remote doesn't work

Installed this ceiling fan- actually 5 for my home. All work great except one remote doesn't work. Can't find a way to replace it!!!

Only one flaw; all remote controlled!

Westinghouse always builds quality products and this one certainly follows suit to other Westinghouse products I have purchased previously. It's a heavy enough product to make you feel the quality behind the cover, but not so heavy that you can't install yourself. Installation took a little longer than expected (because of remote control module), but if you follow the instructions, you can do it without a problem - they are very well written. Fan is great - love everything about it except one thing. Nearly every fan I've ever seen has separate controls for light and fan speed. This is all integrated into one switch, which then activates the remote control to turn on the fan or light. It would've been nice to be able to turn on at least the light with a switch, if not both. Now it's kind of a pain if someone accidentally hits the wrong switch and then the light and fan both won't turn on. The reversible blades look great, the fan is quiet but has a powerful range, and the dim-able light is a great feature. It puts out plenty of light on full power that it could be the only lamp in the room, you just always need to have the remote control right next to the switch (unlike us, who have it on the nightstand).

Awesome fan, confusing remote

These worked perfectly in my home! Reverse spin with a switch on the fan itself is the only drawback but I only have to do that twice a year so I am not bothered with climbing on a ladder to reach them on my vaulted ceilings. The remote is somewhat larger than I would have hoped (the fans in the bedroom have smaller remotes and do the same things this fan does) The controls on the remote are confusing too (speed 3 is the low setting and speed 1 is high which took some adjusting to get used to). All in all tho, the style worked well in my home and Westinghouse products have a proven track record with me. It was easy to assemble and install (not too much headache). I assembled it on the ground and then climbed the ladder to hang it which worked well for me (had a partner help me out with hanging it).

This fan is easy to install

This fan is easy to install. I'm a small woman with limited experience installing light fixtures and I install this with very little trouble cause of the hands free wiring hook on the mount. The hook to hang it on for hangs free wiring was bent up too much though and I had to have my husband bend it back down for me, after that though I was able to hang it on it and wire it just fine. The remote makes it so that I can shut the light off from bed rather than trying to stumble over the dogs and around the bed in the dark which makes a huge difference and now I'd like to replace the other 3 fans in our house with these.

This fan is great! The fan looks good, is easy to assemble, and is easy to install. I am a total novice, so it took me a little longer than expected, but I got done in roughly an hour - complete with some newly discovered wiring problems my previous house owners left me. I have not had any problems with the remote, and everything works as planned. I definitely recommend the fan. I plan to buy 3 more in the next 30 days. Note to the novices: The black wire is "always on," while the red wire is "switched-on." If you have both wires coming out of your ceiling you only need to hook one up (per the instructions). I chose the red one so that I could still use the light switch.

Perfect fans

We purchased two of these. Were were unhappy with the shipping delay coming directly from the factory instead of our usual Prime (it showed as Prime eligible when we bought them). However, once we received them, we were happy. Installation was easy. It took us a little time to install the first as we had never done a fan install but we had no problems. I do suggest you have a wire cutter/stripper handy but you can do with just a basic wire cutter. The units look great and we love the reversible blades. We use one color in our living room and the other color in our bedroom. The remotes work well but you may want to get some drywall anchors for the screws that attach the remote holder to the wall. My goal now is to find this same fan in a model that does not have remotes for the other rooms in the house. Definitely a good buy.

Very nice fan

The fan itself is very nice and rather attractive. The only drawback are 3-4 holes up near the mounting cover that don't get covered by a bezel, etc. Other than that, the installation was rather easy (instructions are long, but relatively easy to follow). Operation is wobble-free and they really move the air. Having the two-sided blades is great (and found on most fans today); but the light and dark wood styles chosen for this fan are very nice. I put one in a master bedroom and another in a loft; each using a different color and they both look awesome. Nice fan for the money and the remote is added convenience. No 5 stars only due to the installation time and lengthy instructions.
