Grab a hold of one
Ya see what I did there? I crack myself up. It’s a nice little vise. Just understand what its limitations are. You’re not gonna clamp a 2x4 in it and pound away with a 2 pound sledgehammer. But use it for its intended purpose and you’ll be fine. And happy. I have two large sheds with a workbench in each. I like this little guy because I can easily move it between the two. It clamps nice and securely on the edge of a 2x6. Holds small items tightly. Smooth as silk operation. Excellent value. Made in the USA ???????? That’s pretty damn important to me I highly recommend Thanks for reading

Cheap design limits clamping force
The leadscrew depends on a flimsy e-clip (circlip) to transmit force to the sliding jaw. Yes, this is a small vise and needn't be capable of generating tons of clamping force, but even a reasonably small force can easily bend the e-clip, rendering the vise completely nonfunctional. The first time this happened, I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement, which was decent. However, the amount of torque on the handle needed to cause this is quite easy to achieve, without placing undue force on the handle. This means that you basically have to baby this vise, for risk of rendering it (temporarily) nonfunctional. And even if the company will replace it, it isn't practical to have to go through this every time you need to clamp something firmly. I hate to say this about a genuinely made-in-America tool, but I've used similarly-sized generic Chinese vises which can provide more clamping force without failing. I hope Yost is capable of recognizing this issue and correcting it, but the vise I received is not one I can recommend.

Worth Every Penny!
Not only Made in the USA but shipped extremely fast and well packed to boot. This vise makes a perfect third hand for small projects. It fastens securely to the edge of most tables and stays where you put it. The quality is top notch and the precision is right on. The guide rods insure that the action is straight and true. Yes, this item is a little more expensive but, as they say, you get what you pay for and this is the proof. If you are looking for a small, compact vise that does all it claims it will do then this is the one for you. Looking for the Jaw Vise Caps for this vise? Found those here too and they are equally well made and worth the price.Yost 2.5" Aluminum Jaw Vise Caps, Model 325

Quality Tiny Vise
Everything about this vice screams quality. Unfortunately, the stop on the main screw (jaw) is a very thin floating washer, if you crank it too tight, it will deform and render the vice non-working. This happened to me twice. Req disassembly to repair. Needs a redesign on that one issue. On the other hand, if you only need to work on small parts and won't ever over tighten it, this is a great little tool.

Clip not robust enough.
When I used the vise to hold something very tight and then let off the pressure, the little clip that opens the vise bent. I had to tap the bars in the back with a hammer to get it to open. I filed down a nut to back up the clip and it works fine now. For a product that is twice the price of the competitors, I would have expected better.

Nice little vise.
Not bad for a small light duty vise, a bit pricey but i’m willing to pay for American made products. This thing could use some better jaws. The supply of cheap Chinese products may start to dry up with new tariffs coming into effect. I keep this in my tool box at work and clamp it to various bench tops where needed. Bought one of wilton’s Clamp vises and it’s pretty awesome but Chinese made.

Works well
Product works well, is made of steel, and is heavy-duty. I only wish it was a little larger on the bottom, as it barely clips on to my workbench. However, it does hold studs and small wood-working projects well. My shipment was fast & I would purchase from this company again.

Vise
It's blue and it says YOST on the front. The jaws are machined flat(slightly serrated)and come together nicely. There is a vise similar to the yost at Lowes, but the jaws are painted over and the paint job is ugly. I gave this item 4 stars because it costs 2x as much as others similar to it.
