Works great with some annoying issues
The first issue is that the transformer is integrated into the plug. This is how Aquascape does things. The problem is that you will be using this outside and it should be in an enclosed box. It will either not fit most boxes or it will block a second outlet. Problem 2, the cord from the transformer to the controller is very short so your mounting options are very limited. Problem 3, the digital readout is very dim and can not be read in direct sun, however you will probably use the app on your phone. This brings me to the last issue(s), there are no directions included on or in the box. Obviously you will go to the app store to download the app but it is not called Smart Pond Thermometer. You have to search for Aquascape Smart Control. Now you have to create an account to even use the app. Next you find that it uses your home WIFI network to connect to your device, not Bluetooth. This was a PITA. With all that being said I would still recommend this thermometer, it works perfect, seems accurate and good quality.

Disappointed - could not see thermometer is wi-fi device list.
I tried everything I could think of...Manually Add a New Device...Let AguaScape app Add a New Device...reboot wi-fi (2.4ghz)...turn android phone on/off....unplugged/re-plugged the thermometer...I could not get my phone to acknowledge this thermometer in the list of "found" wi-fi devices. Too much money if it's not "smart" and it's only a thermometer. Will probably return.

Great technology
I have always wanted to know water temp through out the year for my 4000 gal pond, without having to go and manually check my thermometer. This Aquascape thermometer is the answer. Accuracy is spot on. My biggest challenge was getting internet signal to the device outside. The pond is 25' below our main living floor, and the modem is deep in the house. I had to add a Linksys AC1900 WiFi Extender to get a reading. My best wifi reading is still WEAK at only -82 RSSI. Bottom line, it works..

Used it on my koi pond, good that it syncs with the phone app for remote monitoring. Easy install.

Stay Away
This so-called "smart thermometer" isn't very smart. I followed the setup guide and the first thing it did was download a firmware update. After that I couldn't get it to connect to my WiFi network or my Bluetooth on my Pixel 6a. After seeing all the negative 1-star reviews I should have never wasted my time, but since I have other Aquascape products that I'm happy with, I thought this was worth a try. Boy was I wrong. Retuned for refund.
