Perfect for long term water storage

You can shop around and possibly find a cheaper barrel but if you add in the shipping it will cost more. This was the best deal I could find for quality barrel as most of the places that I looked at wanted over $100 shipping. Seems well made....I'm happy.

The barrel was lightweight for it's size and works as advertised. If I need another one, this is the one I will get.

Storing water is really important

I have purchased this water barrel for myself from the local supermarkets and hardware stores where I live, but was unable to find any local stores that sell them where my children live, so I had to order them and had them sent to their houses. The price listed by Augason Farms was exorbitant in terms of what I pay at the store, and what they charged for buying and shipping them. A word of warning: if you are going to fill this barrel with a liquid that freezes in winter, only fill the barrel to within 7 inches of the top to allow for expansion as the water freezes, otherwise, it will crack the side of the barrel.

Got here in record time

It's a plastic barrel and it holds 55 gallons of water as designed. My only [minor] complaint is the top is very slightly domed so you can't easily place a sheet of plywood (1/4") on it. But, that was easy to remedy with four little bumper pads. Not designed for stacking, but a flat surface is great for small things: small boxes with things in them you want to have immediately handy dealing with the water; a syphon maybe. Unlike the last 30 gallon barrel I bought from another seller that took almost three weeks to get delivered, this one arrived in two days. I know ... COVID-19 and all that . But some sellers apparently deal with it better than others.

It's a barrel. It does exactly what you'd think a barrel does.

Thick plastic. Bung caps have a marking and thread for a 3/4 reduction (will require drilling - no pre-cut holes). Recommend getting a bung wrench as they are fairly tight, a good quality for sealing in the water. Will likely hold water for years without contamination.
