Great quality and price

This is a great handleset. I wanted to match my 22-year-old set as closely as possible. I couldn’t find a match at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Amazon came through once again. The quality is excellent and it looks very elegant on my solid oak door. It was also reduced 8%, so the price was right.

Beautiful Addition to our New Door

Needed a handset for our new door and this really fit the bill! Heavy, well made and beautiful. Really love the oval handle on the interior. Baldwin may cost a little more but the quality is well worth it. My family was really impressed.

This is for a large door.

I screwed up when I chose this. (I can't install it, so I can't answer to it's ease of installation.) I screwed up because I misinterpreted the dimensions and thought this was hardware for a standard size front door. That error is my own, and I deduct no stars for it. It just impedes my ability to assess the installation ease, and it also means I'm going to emphasize the large size to help protect others from my error. If you need Large Handle for a Large Door, I'd recommend this. It's heavy, sturdy, seems well constructed, and it's a lovely design. It's extremely well packaged and it comes with a reasonable amount of instruction. This seems to be a well constructed piece of hardware, and it looks even nicer in person than it does online. It's just large. If you need something for a large door, I'd recommend. If you want to try something else from this brand, I would recommend. But, if you want to replace hardware on a standard size home, this will be too large.

Excellent... with a few minor issues

I can't say anything negative about this physically - looks great, feels solid, fairly smooth operation. I'm almost certain you will be very happy with this product. PROS • Looks great * Solid * Smooth * Secure * Typical installation is pretty easy • Self re-key feature (if applicable) CONS I mostly decided on this one because of the self-rekeying feature that would save me from making 10 new copies of my house keys... but... not all keys are created equal. This certainly doesn't work with my former keys that won't even insert into this one. This one uses a large, substantial key that is probably common in house locks from the last 15 years, but my 20+ year-old key is too small. The directions could be more robust. I probably could have installed it faster without the instructions. Maybe I goofed somewhere, but I could not find any bolt in the kit that fit the door knob. Fortunately, I was able to re-use the bolts from my original unit. So, personally, without the ability to re-use my old keys, I would have considered this out of my budget (it is kind of pricey) so I'm tempted to only give it 4 stars, but as this might not apply to you, and you may not care about the cost, I'll rate it just on the end result - which is a very high-quality new door set.

Very elegant and durable

Baldwin Avendale Single Cylinder Front Door Handleset Featuring SmartKey Security in Satin Nickel, Prestige Series with Traditional Door Hardware- Baldwin really lived up to their high-end name with this lock. I have always really loved their door handles and this is no exception. This is a beautiful and elegant looking door handle. It really stands out on any door. I was a bit concerned about the spacing on one of my doors because it is older. I realized the deadbolt on it must have been added after they installed the door because the spacing is not standard 5.5”. So this lock worked for my other door which is not where I wanted it but I plan on swapping it out once I replace my main door. This lock is a real showpiece and belongs on the front door. It’s very heavy and durable. They didn’t cut corners on this lock what so ever. You can convert this lock so that the deadbolt is a dummy lock. It does require a conversion kit in order to do so according to the instructions. I didn’t want to go that route because I do like the security of the deadbolt. Overall this is an extremely well-made door lock. It looks fantastic but most importantly it provides the security of a durable lock. It feels more secure than my separate deadbolt and door handle that was previously installed. The locks are smooth and feel great when you grip them. I would definitely recommend this lock.

Beautiful!

The pictures of this handle really don’t do this piece justice. This is very well made and sturdy, and we were extremely happy when it arrived. This was shipped with care and well packaged. All parts are present. Because the door didn’t have a pre drilled spot for a deadbolt, we elicited the help of a handyman, knowing that the holes need to be precise and we did not want to ruin our door. Needless to say, our handyman we hired had it installed in I estimate about 15 minutes tops, and it is by far more elegant than we imagined! Beautiful and strong, very much seems worth the price!
