Works as expected

It's a lil tough on your trigger finger to hold open the feeder chute, but it works good. Once you get the hang of how it throws, it's very handy. There's no assembly required ????

Spinner Disk Needs Design Modification

Everything works great except for the spinner disk. When spreading lime pellets they get stuck underneath the disk and jams the disk. The good news is that the spreader is built solid enough that the handle or gears do not break when it jams. When spreading fine grain fertilizer a significant amount of product collects under the spinner disk and when you tip the spreader it all falls out onto one spot in the grass.

Good spreader

I had a Scotts battery operated hand spreader that needed a new handful of AA batteries every other time I used it, so I happily disposed of that. The Brinly hand spreader is just what I wanted. It has an adjustable application rate and the hopper and the gearing seem very solid. This one will probably last me a lifetime. Far better than other hand spreaders I have seen.

Not what was expected.

The button you push to open so material flows sticks open and won' close, makes a mess unless you keep spinning until empty. The handle you hold it by is at the wrong angle to be comfortable. It does a nice job spreading is the only good thing.
