Lots of sizes, no slumping

It's hard to find pony-size leg guards so I buy these annually. I've found Cashel products to fit, be made well, and stay in place.

They appear well made and likely to last. A very important point to remember though - look at the sizing chart and measure your horses fetlock circumference or you have good odds of getting too large a size, which will fall down. These do not have rigid strips in them like some to hold them up, they have to fit snuggly above the fetlock to stay up. They can fit loose at the joint and below, so long as it's snug above. I matched the fetlock circumference for my two as best I could and found they fit snuggly on one (circumference matched chart exactly) and a bit tight on the other (his circumference was 1/2 inch greater than chart). I've ordered the next size up for the guy with larger legs, but he is wearing the smaller size in the meantime to help protect an injury (wire cut). So far, the leg guard is not causing a problem with the injury and is nicely protecting it. For reference, I normally buy size HORSE in Cashel products for both of my guys, but the chart put them as YEARLING/LARGE PONY. Cashel's size descriptions are a bit odd with these leg guards!

Fits smaller horses

I got these because Shoo Flys are too big for my Paso gelding. They are ok, but not great. They tend to slouch a little and need to be pulled up every evening. They also are fraying after about 6 weeks.

Waste of money

This is my first time to buy fly boots for my horse. I looked at many and purchased these because of the reviews. I'm not sure if all fly boots are useless, or just these. They scrunched down almost immediately and two of them tore (I purchased 4). She also developed a large sore on her back ankle. Anyway, not very satisfied - but no other fly boots had any better reviews.

Contour shape makes them stay up and on

First boots that actually stay up and on. Very durable! They’ve been wearing off and on for months and are completely intact. Easy to clean just hose them off and let dry.

Prevents stomping

These are sturdy ans hold up. But my mare has managed to rip the back already.
