Works well with our Dragon humidifier
This is our fourth Crane humidifier. The first 2 were the Drop shape, and while we loved them, the maintenance was high because of our hard water. They each lasted 15-18 months, save for a 4-month summer reprieve. I started using a Protec ball but didnt feel like they did anything, so stopped buying them. We think the mineral build-up is what caused their demise, and I take full blame for not cleaning them as often as instructed. Dust happens, especially in our home with forced-air heat, so I didn't purchase the cartridge for white dust reduction as much as humidifier maintenance support. I have had the Dragon and filter for about 5 weeks now, and the demineralization cartridge causes a noticeable difference in the unit. The water tank and reservoir have significantly less cleaning required - as in I've only cleaned it once, and not because the water had brown build-up but because I realized it was due for a vinegar rinse. I do think we've had a dust reduction but I couldn't attribute it completely to the humidifier cartridge because we also started using a more "advanced" furnace filter. I also can't tell if the filter causes less water to be misted into the air as the tank seems smaller than our former drop-shape tank even though one fill lasts the dragon through at least two full nights (medium powere 8pm-7am, low output or off rest of day). I say 5-stars because I'm lazy and I like not having to clean the humidifiers that are a necissity in our house at least 6-months a year. I will continue to buy these Crane-specific demineralization cartridges.

Make the humidifier to STOP working during night...
It make our humidifier stop working in the middle of the night. If we picked up the water container and put it back in, it would start working again but only for a short period of time before shutting off again. I just see someone having the same problem in others reviews and he called Crane to explain the issue and they said that they have re-designed the filters and they need to dry out after each use so she said I'd need to empty the water each morning and let the filter air out during the day and then fill it back up at night. Since we just leave our water in there and replace it when it's low, the filters have become "oversaturated". So unless you are willing to empty your humidifiers each morning, I'd skip purchasing this product. Crane customer service was very helpful and they did say they'd send me replacement filters if airing them out doesn't work. Just annoyed at having to empty the humidifiers each morning in order for the product to continue to work properly.

Fits the crane adorables great. Follow the instructions
4 stars because I can only attest to how it fits. I use this with the crane monkey adorables humidifier and it fits well. We are on well water in my house so I ahve broken about 4 humidifiers since moving here lol. I’m lazy ( let’s be honest) I have a baby and do I have time to clean a humidifier and let it dry daily .... no I’m not gunna do that so I got the filter and the humidifier at the same time. Hopefully it keeps it from destruction due to my water. Soaked it for 39 minutes first in the sink to active at the filter . The little beads went jelly like. Screws in where you fill the basin. So far I’m impressed. Between the two products( filter and humidifier ) I’ve shelled out 100 bucks so I’m hoping this lasts a couple years ???????? Update: This filter also fits the droplet humidifier from crane, having said that I’m hella annoyed that I have to unscrew this stupid filter every damn time I fill the humidifier. It’s a royals pain and I acually cup my hand fiddling with the stupid thing. I might send it back.

This Cartridge does NOT work!!!! There's still a white film on everything in the house!
Initially, I loved this humidifier. Normally, even running a teakettle and a hot air humidifier all winter, we can't keep the humidity above 21% where we live. It's cold and arid here. So when we bought the Crane drop before Christmas and started using it I was delighted with how much moisture it pumped into the air. We started noticing that there was a film on the lenses of our eye glasses no matter where we left them laying. Then we started noticing a white film on everything in the house! On the floors, the light fixtures, computer keyboards, even vertical surfaces. So after reading up on it, we purchased two filters for the humidifier and after reading lots of other reviews about them, made sure we soaked the first one for a long, long time. The humidifier still didn't always want to work, the red light came on because the filter slowed down the water too much, but if you turned the crane down it would. After using first one and then the second filter over a period of only three weeks, the house and every item in it is just as covered in the white film as it was without the filter. This humidifier works great but unless you have access to distilled water, which is not affordable for us, then do not buy this product. The way I look at it is if this fine white film is building up on everything in the house every day, then it's building up in your electronics and in your lungs.

Fit my Crane Drop humidifier see pic
According to package I received it does work the my crane drop humidifier. I screwed it in and it fits! Note mine has a white ring/cap as I noticed others mentioning the other colour filters may not work. Time will tell if it actually helps with the Demineralization but I can assure you the one I received fits my humidifier!

Declining quality
Ok so I have ordered these for a few years. The last one however, was a different colour and size. It is blue and longer. Still fits in my humidifier but I have noticed some white dust. I never had this issue with the older design which is the white one pictured. Also the price is kind of high. Can’t find it in any local store so I keep repurchasing here.
