You can't go wrong with Delta

One of the few remaining companies that have great service and well thought out products. This particular shower trim fit right on an an 8 year old valve. Called the company before I purchased to make sure it would and got a guy on the phone that knew his stuff and had straight forward answers. You know.....like the old days

Pretty, but poorly designed!

I expect a lot more from Delta. I purchased 2 of these faucets for a new basement shower. One powers a huge rain head and the other runs a Delta hand held shower. The way this is designed to mount to the wall is useless. It requires a seemingly impossible tightness of the backing plate to allow this to be tightened correctly. The result is it is either SLOPPY loose so water can get into the wall or overly tight where it quickly "pops" apart...so water gets into the wall and it then needs to be taken apart and re-set looser... so water gets into the wall. Sadly, I am no longer able to return this junk... but I suggest others avoid this inferior faucet design! I paid a lot of money, and this faucet will require a gallon of silicone caulk to partially overcome inferior design. Next time, I will not buy Delta!

Beautiful

I recently did a total shower makeover and searched for a new shower faucet that had all metal parts. This one is one of the very few that had a back plate that was metal not coated plastic! It’s very easy to use and just what I was looking for.

Instructions need improvement.

The plate is substancial and much nicer than the Delta ones you will find at a Lowes or HD. Install was a bit tricky. The instructions are for a whole series of models and are not specific to the unit. It took a while to figure out that you need to twist the trim onto the mounting plate to get it to install flush. The mounting screws were covered in oil that left my fingers black and it caused the chrome plate to be covered in smudges. Also, my initial unit was missing the mounting plate (Amazon of course took the return and sent a new one promptly).

Water Spots

Kinda pricey, but really good looking (when clean). Water spots detract from looks after one use. Need to keep wiped off or maybe use a water repellant. The installation was simple and clever. I would buy this again based on ease of installation and style.
