Captures Hogwarts aesthetic

The look of the Hall/Tower is excellent. As other reviewers have noted, because the product is resin, when lit, the light shines through the walls as well as the windows. Not ideal. Would be much better if the light showed only through the windows and did not make the walls glow as well. But, to me, it doesn't ruin the overall aesthetic. It does evoke the feel of Hogwarts and when paired with the other Hogwarts' buildings, looks fantastic. A general comment about the whole Harry Potter line: You need to get over the idea that you're shelling out big $$$ for a piece or plastic as opposed to ceramic (like so many of the other Dept. 56 products) if you want to feel good about the purchase. I get a twinge of resentment that Dept. 56 went cheap with the materials and then gouges buyers with the price every time I put one in my cart. That being said, it hasn't stopped me from buying. I know what I'm getting, and believe they building are overpriced. But they do look great.

Details of product and seller communication

The castle is orange when the light is on however I have heard from various websites that it is 50/50 with dept 56 and this particular piece. The seller(sparkle castle) had stellar communication and we resolved the issue. They back the products they sale and we worked things out.

A must for your collection or village

The media could not be loaded. Purchased a few Department 56 buildings for my Harry Potter Village Christmas theme for under my Christmas tree and used other buildings (repainted) as fillers for some of the other buildings in Diagon Alley. The money is worth spending on this building it gives off a lot of glow. Of all of the Harry Potter Department 56 buildings this is one of the must buys. You can not go wrong with adding this to your collection or village setup. The two hanging signs are made of metal and the building feels like a mix of ceramic (but not heavy) and another material I cannot identify, but there is enough weight to this building that it is not easily able to tip over. The tiny bricks looks so realistic too. It stands exactly 7 and 1/2 inches tall. I also purchased the three broomsticks building FANTASTIC LOOKING BUILDING AS WELL.

Huge Harry Potter fan loves this!

Daughter and grandson LOVE anything Harry Potter. Wanted to get them a collectible to set out as the holidays. To my surprise they use year round. Planning on adding more to this for a great holiday display.

(Too) Big and beautiful

I really like it, besides it is too big... Was used to the sizes of the New England Village houses, but this is more than double in hight and width. Never used it, might going to re-sell.
