Be careful on the Measurement - Order the Wide Calf

I ordered my size based off the pictured measurements. I was within the Standard Calf measurements so I ordered the Standard size. When I tried it on I could barely get it to touch the tip of the velcro. As I walked around the living room in it it came loose. So I ordered the Wide Calf even though I should have fit the standard and the Wide felt much more secure and I had no further problems. I will also say be prepared to wear very thick socks as the bottom is just hard plastic with no padding.

Excellent Ankle Brace!!!

I bought this ankle brace for my daughter. She is a high school senior post player in basketball. She ruptured her ankle tendon before her sophomore year and had the corrective surgery which left her with an ankle prone to sprains. We tried numerous ankle braces during her junior year with varied success (she did make All State by the way). A friend recommended the DonJoy Velocity ES STD for her after yet another moderate sprain after our 3rd game in 2014. We purchased these braces for both ankles. Knock on wood, but she has played approximately 10 games against our most rigorous competition of the year in these braces and she loves them and no (again knock on wood) ankle injury of any type. I would highly recommend these braces even at the additional cost compared to other braces. I would especially recommend for any athlete coming back from ankle surgery - IMO they are superior.

Is fantastic!!

Is the second DonJoy Velocity ES Ankle Brace I bought. Is fantastic !! I'm 69. I suffer from osteoarthritis and 5 years ago two surgeons wanted to do a complete ankle arthrodesis. I walked with a lot of pain and I could not do it for more than 5 minutes. In the supermarket I used the disabled cart, and I bought a scooter to travel. I came to think about cutting my ankle, so I visited a manufacturer of artificial legs, which made me a support fiberglass, whose use allowed me to walk with much less pain. 4 years ago I found this ankle brace from DonJoy, which changed my life. Although the pain never goes away completely, I can walk almost normally. And I can travel without the scooter ...

Donjoy Velocity worked great

My son suffered a high ankle sprain playing varsity football. The orthopedic doctor cleared him to play but with a stronger brace than what he was given initially. The Donjoy Velocity has stiff side bars and a stiff bar that goes underneath his foot. He had no pain and continued to play next 3 games. I would highly recommend it.
