Great Product
Now getting spam mail for weight loss products. Additional 10/1/2020 I bought another walker this week because my "old" old walker frame is completely worn out and now dangerous. A second newer 9 month (January 2020) old walker is now kept in my car for travel use. I pretty much know and like this product so last week I bought another for use exclusively indoors. Today I unboxed and adjusted it but something was different. The wheels were harder, more shiny and more slick than the (tires) wheels on my other walkers were new, out of the box. My suspicions were confirmed when the new walker "skated" away twice on hard smooth flooring during its first use. My only solution seems to be exchanging the wheel assemblies with the ones on my "travel" walker kept in my car, and break the slippery glaze on the new wheels (tires) by normal use on pavement. It is a very good product, well built and durable. Just be very careful of the slippery tires until the shine is worn off. I thought of breaking the glaze a bit with Scotch Brite scrubbing pads but decided not to. Running them on pavement made the most sense. I would still buy again despite this bump in the road.

Left Folding Hinge Issue - Drive Heavy Duty Walker
The Drive Medical Heavy Duty Walker overall works well. There is an apparent design flaw or hardware issue with the LEFT folding hinge. I have THREE (3) Drive Heavy Duty Walkers and the left hinge on two (2) of them is difficult to press and fold. These two (2) walkers were purchased in the last 30-45 days. The 3rd walker’s left hinge does not work at all and CANNOT be folded. This one was purchased about eighteen (18) months ago. It stopped folding two (2) months back. As a rule, Drive Medical Products are my first choice. Nonetheless, this flaw is disappointing. Presently, As an above the knee amputee, outfitted with an OTTOBOCK C-Leg, walkers are key to mobility. Currently working on using the cuff cructches and eventually, moving about without the use of any assistive devices. Until then, the walkers must be employed. My home has three (3) levels and two (2) staircases of twelve (12) and fourteen (14) winding steps. A walker is required on each level for mobility. The walker at the bottom level is used to exit into the garage and must be folded to put into the car and used on arrival at a given destination. Hopefully, this information will be of some value in your efforts to achieve and produce high quality and dependable medical equipment. Best regards.

Grips
Love the Walker for sturdiness. However, I wish the grips were foam. They are plastic and make your hands smell horrible. We bought foam sheets meant for crafting to cover them.

Way better than I expected
I have been using an "hand-me-down" walker but wanted something sturdier because I am a heavy person. This one weighs a bit more than my last one, but I can lift it into the car and it folds easily. I felt much more secure using this walker and the double wheels did not get stuck on sidewalk cracks like the last one. For the reasonable price, I was pleasantly surprised.

Keeps breaking in the same place
I bought the replacement in July 2021, it’s now November 2022 and it snapped in the same place as the first one. This seems to be a design flaw. They should do something about it. This one also had the problem with the aluminum rivets breaking, but I still had nuts and bolts to replace them. I’m going to have to try a different brand now. ================================ I just bought this as a replacement for my previous one that broke. I like it enough to buy another of the same model, but the previous one did break. The first break happened very soon after I got it. The aluminum rivets that hold the slide bars to the arms snapped off at the ends. That was easily fixed with stainless steel bolts and nuts. Although some LockTite would keep the nuts from coming unscrewed. And you should check the rest of the screws regularly, they come loose. The biggest problem was that the top bar broke when I used it outdoors on concrete. It snapped right at the place where the lock bolt goes through. That is why I had to replace it. My new one came with these strange little end caps loose in the box. I have no idea what they are for.

Much better choice for me
I am in my late 60's, 5'4" and weigh over 350 lbs. I originally ordered a less expensive walker and at first it worked well for me, but after 6 months it was very shaky. This one is much stronger built and looks like it is able to be tightened if it loosens up because it has screws in certain areas. The other one had brads not screws. I have some days that I nearly drag my legs around and this walker holds me up without worrying I might fall. I'm very happy to be able to get back to a more normal life with this walker.
