All the Features of More Expensive Ones
I was very pleased with this clock radio. It has every feature of the unit it replaced that cost 3x as much: like big numerals easy to see, 2 alarms that increase from soft to louder, wake to radio or buzzer, sleep timer, alarms set for 5 day work week, 2 day weekend, or 7 days. The radio is not big, has single speaker and sounds OK - this ain't no Bose System. But interesting, I live in the country and it picks up stations 45 miles away. I liked it enough that I bought another one for another room. At the price, you could get one for every room in the house. Downside: it has 4 levels of brightness and lowest could be a little dimmer. And like some people mentioned, the buttons on top are hard to see since they are all black. But once you learn them, it's not too problematic. Overall, I say Yes, Good buy. And if it lasts 2 or more years, it's a steal!

Good design
The SmartSet, wow, within seconds of plugging it in it had the right date and time. The display is a bit bright and the 4 adjustable settings just don't dim enough so I had to add a tinting film (Birllaid Light dimming Stickers Sheets 6x3 Inch for $7) to darken the display. Very nice clock radio. The angle of the display the placement of the buttons, nice. I am sure to help keep the size and price as small as reasonable they came up with each button does at least two functions depending on what mode the clock/radio/alarm is in. It takes a little getting use to, it is not obviously clear but they are well throughout and once you are use to them it is 'OK'. As for the FM radio, the antenna is separate from the power cord, so the FM reception is better than many other clock radios but it is still 'weak' ... I found a good enough station to wake with but it was not my first choice. I need a FM antenna booster :)

It works and is inexpensive
I purchased this back in Nov. ‘22 and was pretty satisfied as I used it mostly for a clock, occasionally as a radio. Then it all stopped working, maybe a month ago. Because it was inexpensive, I ordered another. Each is presently working fine. Then I decided to replace the auxiliary battery on the original unit. Surprisingly, the radio came back on and seems to be working fine. Because the battery is supposed to last 3-5 years depending on how long it has been since manufacture, I didn’t think that was the problem. I.guess I should have paid more attention to see if there was a low battery alarm. There are lots of operating modes and the instructions have tiny print, and I felt it was hard to set up. Making a photo copy of the location of the controls would give a reference of their location because it is difficult to read the inscriptions on the unit since they are the same color. The fm band seems to work ok, but due, I think, to my location, the am band is virtually worthless. For a bedroom or bathroom use, I think the low cost makes this a good purchase.

Replacing an old Emerson radio I've had for many years.
Now that I have it all set up I like the radio. This is one that you really need to read the directions closely, that is why I gave it 4 stars. It seemed very complicated at first but now I understand it and like everything it can do. I am actually using the second alarm button for the one day I have to get up earlier. The radio reception turned out to be better than my old one. I saw complaints about the dimmer not being good enough but I think it is fine. I am satisfied so far.

Ok for the price
A bit of background before I discuss the Emerson CKS1900 clock/radio. I've had two red LED clock/radio's for some decades. A few months ago I replaced one (buttons failing) with a true RC (Radio controlled--aka "atomic") LCD unit. It keeps itself synchronized with the US official time standard in Boulder, CO via the WWVB radio signal. I have four other RC wall clocks that do the same. I purchased the CKS1900 to replace my other clock/radio, which although still working, is nearing the end of its life. My unit did NOT come with a printed manual. I therefore downloaded the electronic (PDF) version from the Emerson website. I prefer manuals in PDF format anyway (can always print them). The manual is quite basic and omits various details (given below). I suggest trying stuff and/or doing web searches. The CKS1900, having green dimmable LED's, is preferable to my old non-dimmable red LED unit. Easier on my eyes. I keep it on the lowest setting (for nighttime viewing). Although NOT an RC clock it does automatically change time at daylight saving changes (twice per year). In my area (YMMV) non-RC mains powered clocks (e.g. the ones in my Microwave & Oven) are accurate to about 30s. That is "good enough" given that my other (RC) units are within a second. Although not stated in the manual the DST start/end dates CAN be changed. Search for "SmartSet Technology" on the web to find the details on the Emerson website. Note that the dates on their page are for 2007 (the last change in the US). Use dates for the current year instead. DST changes cannot be turned off (the newer CKS1521 allows this but the method doesn't work on my CKS1900) so if you live in an area that doesn't have it you'll have to change the timezone/time twice a year. Not an issue in my case. While the CKS1900 has two alarms I don't need or use them. That said having two could be useful at times. As for the radio I don't use it but I've set up the local station presets anyway. The manual states that there are ten (P 01 to P 10) presets but in fact there are twenty--10 for AM and 10 for FM. Recalling a preset does NOT change the band (AM/FM). You have to do that manually via the BAND button. Also during tuning if you hold the TUNE + or - button down the unit will scan until finding the next station. Quick presses increase/decrease the frequency. In my case the radio has very low volume (I've seen other reports on the web about this). Others say it's "loud". I tried a full unit reset (removed the backup battery and AC power for 10 mins) but no change. Since I don't use the alarms/radio this is not an issue to me. Again YMMV. BTW the volume has (17) steps from U 00 to U 16. Unfortunately this model doesn't display the time in 24hr (aka military) format which I prefer. I did find, in the Q&A section of the CKS1800 page on Amazon, that it may be possible but the method given there doesn't work on my CKS1900. I may yet find a trick to do this. The bottom line: for the price (I got mine at a steep discount) this is a good all round clock/radio--at least for my purpose (bedside time display). PS: Most clock/radio's can't/won't show seconds (I've had some that did through undocumented button combinations). If the CKS1900 can I haven't yet discovered how. That said if you manually set the time, using the TIME and + - buttons, the seconds are set to zero (i.e. the minute will advance at the next 59/00 second transition). I've confirmed this multiple times. If your clock is "off" and you have an accurate time source this will make it right. BTW manually changing the date/time resets the internal standard (i.e. "SmartSet") per the manual.

Can see it great, just wish I could hear it.
Pros: easy to set. Easy to read. Reception is average. Cons: not very loud. I have it set for the alarm to play the radio and often sleep through it. Mine is a very small house and all previous clock radios and I've been able to hear all previous clock radios in the next room. This one I can barely hear outside my room door. If your goal is to not wake up your roommate, or even bedmate this is for you. If your goal is to wake up to tunes or follow the morning news as you're in and out probably better off choosing something else

The input voltage is 120v, but we have 220v input. Hence the system not working.
Though I bought it with great pleasure to gift it to my wife, but could not do so since the system is not fit to operate on 220 v supply. Please suggest what should I do. The package material is with me. I can return it.
