This had the information I was expecting!!

I was disappointed in this as it was made out of cardboard rather than a durable plastic. I was expecting it to be of better quality but I am happy that it does have the information needed when seeking a compostion en plein air

A little small for field work

This little viewfinder did its job, but it is quite tiny. I would like the same hole sizes, but in a larger sheet so I could grab it more securely.

perfect

loved this little tool... easy to keep nearby when i am painting in the studio or plein air.... helps me recall color combos and complementary colors as well as gray scales.... highly recommend it.

Very nice Composition FInder!

It really helps in finding the values to use in drawing and in color for drawing with colored pencils or painting. I appreciate the view finder also. It helps in composition and also in mentally dividing the source material into grids using the little marks around the sides.

Watch the size!

Came on time was smaller than expected. Pictures made it look bigger than it was. Should have read the fine print. It is handy to have.

I would be much happier if it was 2 or 3 times the size. I find the indications for the different sizes on the back is very helpful

I use this so often, I had to buy a new one. Very handy. Wish it were a little sturdier. Even laminated in plastic would help.

Useful, but could be improved

Useful tiny piece of kit which I would like to see improved. Pros: - small - light - 3-in-one ( view finder, value guide and color complements) - Fibonacci Spiral / Golden ratio and Golden intersections reference - Paper sizes reference Cons: - Cardboard ( waterproof material would be better for watercolor artist) - White background ( neutral grey would make a more effective view finder) - Color complements shown twice but in reverse order : blue-green, red-orange and purple-red complements would have been more useful than the repeats. - Very expensive for a flimsy bit of paper I bought many items for the same purpose: The Gorilla Painter Composition Finder - Pros: Handy small and light single piece of kit with multiple purpose ( view finder, value scale finder, color complements info) - Cons: (Should be waterproof, with neutral grey background and with better color complements section showing cool/warm complements instead of repeats) Pixiss - Proportional Scale Divider Drawing Tool for Artists, Grey Scale Value Finder, Colour Wheel and Artist View Catcher Finder - Best item of all: - About same size as Gorilla Painter Composition Finder (same height, but narrower - 3 cards instead of the Gorilla Painter’s single sliding window, at about the same weight. - Waterproof. - Hole for a lanyard or clip to attach to your bag Proportional Divider The Pixiss with 3 finders on plastic cards is fsold either with a proportional divider or a lanyard ( I chose to buy the kit with the proportional divider and use my own lanyard or clip...)
