Works well. Moderately long/complex install
It has all the installation parts, however some things to keep in mind:1Tin snips are required. If you've never used them keep in mind the metal curls on one side after cutting. My advice is to drill starter holes in the corners of the square, then use the snips to go around the square in the direction where the future scrap is the side that curls. 2.a 3/4" hole drill bit is required. 3.it comes with a saddle valve (for water supply) which are easy to install but some have had leak issues with this type of valve. I used the included valve and didn't have issues. 4.I didn't think the directions were super clear for installing the pressure sensor. On the bottom of the solenoid there are 2 hose connectors. One needs to go to return/hot duct, one needs to go to supply/cold. The one for the hot duct is black and comes preinstalled/connected, the one for cold/supply needs to be connected manually via a plastic hose. This is where the 3/4" hole drill is required. You'll probably also need a small drill bit (as small as possible) to make starter holes for the sheet metal screws. Box includes needed wire and plastic wire nuts. And a transformer so you can plug it in to a standard electrical outlet. Also keep in mind there is required maintenance involved. With the yearly panel change I recommend inspecting the drain tube for blockages (and replacing as needed) , especially if u have a long horizontal run and/or hard water, or water high in sediment. I've seen these units flood basements after water/sediment built up in the drain hose. It's working well now, but the install process took me 4-8 hours. I look forward to fewer sore throats and dry skin this winter.

Works Great
My house feels so much better now. I replaced a 15 year old Honeywell Humidier and this one has several upgraded features and works well with my Aprilaire Thermostat.

Works great but.....
I have put in these models before. They work great and easy to install for sure. I am giving three stars cause it was missing four things in the box. The tube and grommet for the pressure switch was not in the box. Nor was the 6" start collar and 6" flex duct. I was pretty pissed when I open up the box at my friend's house and it was missing these things. Turned a 2 hour job into a 6 hour job cause I had to run to the hardware store. I just put this same model in a month ago at my neighbors house and it had everything in it with nothing missing, wtf

Make sure your new humidifier has a pure white filter.
So far I like the humidifier and the insulation went pretty smooth. I can’t review how well the product works yet cause the heat is not on. The only issue I have is with the filter. The filter on the left in the photo is the one that came with the humidifier. I was curious why it was brown with some scaling new out of the box. I contacted Honeywell and they said it’s supposed to be white just like the replacement filter I purchased separately, as you can see if the photo the replacement is pure white. Amazon is giving me a credit to purchase another new filter.

Works, but would not purchase again
The product works, and it seems to have raised the humidity about 8% in my home so far (5000 sq ft). My issue with this unit is it's built very cheap. The construction is flimsy plastic which I see becoming brittle in the coming years. The way it attaches to the plenum is four screws, no gasket or anything else to prevent air leaks. If you place your hand on the return duct it feels cool, almost room temperature, if you put your hand on the humidifier it's very warm. There is no insulation in the unit so now I have a device putting out thermals in my utility room. The bypass shutoff does not completely close during summer operation, so you're going to lose a little bit of throughput as air gets cycled through the powered down unit. Lastly the unit has a steady drip of waste water. I understand that filter needs to be thoroughly saturated in order to humidify. I wish Honeywell make the unit distribute water more evenly over the filter at a steady pace, detecting the waste water and adjusting accordingly. Lastly my final gripe with this unit is the humidity controller is chintzy with a very wide operating zone. Looking to lock your humidity at a certain level, this thing will get you close to the ball park. In summary, if you're looking for a cheap unit to do a whole home humidification and are okay with the above listed cons, then this unit will work.

Greta little humidifiers
Seems like a simple design. Unit is made of plastic so be careful... but once installed shouldn't be an issue. I have not had much feed back on unis so they would appear to be functioning as specified. Not a steam humidifier. It is like a old time swamp cooler... it pumps water over a mesh matt installed in unit and air is moved over it. Water is drained out to drain in existing house plumbing. Does not recirculate water.

Great value; install for intermediate level DIYer.
Wiring was not straight forward. Best price ($230) compared to depot, Menards, etc. Made a monster sized difference in the comfort of my home (2,444 sq ft, story and a half style of home). Definitely recommend this product.

Easy to install, and it works.
After studying a number of options to replace my aging humidifier, I settled on this one. I liked the idea that this only comes on if it detects air circulation. To me, all these passive humidifiers are the same since they work on the same concept. I was able to install this one in about an hour, but I consider myself to be on the handy side - I'm not a HVAC guy but do have an engineering degree. Time will tell on overall quality, but this one works and looks to be designed and built well with decent quality. If this lasts ten+ years, then I'll give this five stars, but i might move by then.

A terrible design
Installation is easy, build quality if good to its name. But I have to say the pressure switch design is terrible. It's sensitivity can't be adjusted. I don't know how many users are lucky enough to just provide enough sucking force to turn the unit on. While I was definitely not one of them. I thought my first unit was defective when it's not on after following carefully the installation instruction. Credit to Amazon/Vendor, a replacement unit came to me quickly. I had to do research myself and try to come up with the bypassing method. I have a friend know HVAC and I'm electrical engineer myself. Still lack of information and no easy way to find specs on Honeywell website. I have to also learn wiring diagram on the furnace, my furnace is only capable of providing 24V/0.5A, I might have to also buy a Relay for humidifier. If I knew all these before ahead, I would not buy this unit. And I will not recommend this to anyone without enough confidence with wiring furnace HUM to humidifier (it's not that hard though.) If you know something about electrical, safety, furnace, and feel comfortable learning and experimenting from YouTube. It's a good buy to it's value, according to my HVAC friend.

Took some talent to install
I had to hire my "handyman" to install this. He said he has installed several of these but this one was a bit different. Being a licensed plumber, gas fitter, it took him about 3 hours to install. The water line was already there and plenum hole was already cut (replaced a drum type). Long story short, I have about $500.00 total invested with installation. I've only had this a short while but it's working very well. Some reviewers said that it uses a lot of water. I've found it only uses water until the humidity comes up to the setting on the humidistat, then the water shuts off until more humidity is required. The filter "pads" are quite expensive but I intend to clean mine with CLR. The other issue that reviewers had was the water would not shut off. This seems to be because a tiny bit of lime has built up on the "plunger" inside the solenoid, this too can be taken apart and cleaned with CLR. If this unit is installed correctly, I would highly recommend this to anyone who is fed up with the "drum" type furnace humidifier.

Template is a bit on the small size
The humidifier once installed and correctly wired works great. What looses a star is the documentation could have been written with more clarity. For one the template supplied is best described as short in width and length in the opening needed to be cut. Secondly the water valve wiring changes depending if you attach the humidifier to the return or the outlet of the furnace.

I am pleased with this humidifier and would recommend it.
This humidifier is relatively easy to install for handyman. Except for the sheet metal shears, regular tools will suffice. So far it appears to work better than the “drum” type humidifiers but does consume more water .
