Multiple Step Process Restores and Protects
You must leave the product on and let it soak it and then wipe off and seal with the wax. The board looks beautiful.

Amazing Product
This oil is amazing! No odor, totally safe and absorbs nicely.

Leaky
There’s everything to love about this product and no cons- it’s a sure pleaser. We use it at work at the bakery so I got some for home use. It’s the elixir of life for thirsty wood! It just leaked badly with a broken seal. Packaged well tho, in its own bag but this oil is far to valuable to waste.

Board looks better than new!
So we have had our Boos board for a couple of years and I never got around to picking up mineral oil for it. It still looked good, just getting more than a bit on the dry side. I finally splurged a bit on the Boos brand oil for it. Since the board hadn't been treated since new I gave it a couple of coats. The first coat was admittedly generous. No so much that it went all over the counter, but enough that the board had a distinct wet look (without puddles) to it. I left the board for a good couple of hours before coming back to wipe off the excess - and there wasn't any. I gave the board another day for the oil to penetrate and then I treated it again, this time using less oil and only waiting about an hour between putting the oil on and wiping off the excess. There wasn't much excess this time either. The board looked great. Looking at the edges you could see a major difference where the oil had soaked down into and where the wood was still dry. The next day I started the same process on the other side of the board. I've since treated the board one more time, about a month since the first treatment. This oil makes a big difference in not only the look of the board, but it even seems to clean up easier. Water doesn't penetrate as far when you are rinsing it off, so it dries faster. Even though the bottle says to give the oil five minutes to soak in, I've found that leaving it for a good hour or two allows most of the oil to soak into our block that is a couple of inches thick. I've heard leaving it overnight works better for thicker blocks of 4" - 6" or more.

Perfect oil, don’t skimp at first.
This is quite clearly the perfect oil for a Boos cutting board. It must be a mixture of vegetable oils as there was a distinct separation into two layers while in the bottle but they remained liquid and they were readily miscible with agitation. The Boos block to which I applied this oil came from the factory very thirsty. I applied the first few layers top and bottom with a cloth, as per the instructions, but the oil was very rapidly absorbed, and despite multiple applications the block had a persistent dry feel and appearance. Eventually, I decided to pour out a thick pool of this oil onto the block and I worked it in slowly across the surface with a board scraper. Now the cutting board has a beautiful shine and will handle anything I throw at it (other than raw poultry and cooked meat for any longer than it takes to slice it, as per the instructions) and with a simple wipe of a damp cloth, it looks like new. I would compare the care and feeding of my Boos board to a piece of Filson gear. This oil is the wax the gear needs to stay in good shape, and when it is applied properly, a simple brushing will keep it clean.

Boo’s Oil Protects!
If you have butcher block countertops, islands, or cutting boards of any type, Boo’s Oil is for you. I’ve been using Boo’s oil for years for our butcher block kitchen island and any of our wood cutting boards. The oil nourishes, protects and revitalizes any of your wood surfaces. It’s especially great because it is food grade, soaks in to protect sealing these wood surfaces from stains and odor. More importantly, you don’t have to worry about any “Taste” transferring to your food. Needless to say, I always try to keep Boo’s in stock and use it every couple of months or as needed depending on use. Use it once and you’ll never use anything else!

EASY TO APPLY
EASY APPLICATION AND LASTS FOR MONTHS.

Works very well
I had previously been using mineral oil on my boos end grain board. The Boos oil spreads much more evenly and is absorbed into the wood surface better, giving a significantly improved surface. It is, however, expensive.

Great product but too expensive
Bought it together with my chopping board from same seller. Easy to use, feels nice on the wooden chopping board, but in the end it can be too expensive as you need to use it every month as recommended. And you use pretty much of the product for each treatment. Therefore I find the product to be too expensive. But a must have to keep your chopping board nice and well maintained. Lower the price and I would have given it 5 stars.

Good but expensive
