Great toy with a wide age range

We love this toy! I've got a 4 year old and 7 year old nephew who play with this for hours. Not only can you use it for color matching/sorting and as a motor skills toy, but you can make up your own games to play with the pieces too. We like to hide the geodes and do an easter egg style hunt, where whoever finds a particular color or gem shape first is the winner.

Little hands love these gems!

I bought these for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. We first discovered them at a local Stemville and he absolutely loved them and played with them for a long time. The chisel is not sharp and it is easy for them to learn how to pry open the gems. He hasn’t mastered the hammer yet, but it isn’t necessary to open them. They provide some resistance, but not so much that your child will be frustrated. He likes to hide other small toys inside these too. Great toy for fine motor skills!

Great teaching toy

Teaches color matching, shapes, fine motor skills, problem solving. It’s also a good open ended toy, our 4yr old now uses them the way intended but also as giant boulders for his construction trucks to haul around/transfer.

Kids More Interested in Jewels

I have girls and boys and they really only cared about playing with the gems inside versus banging them apart. It’s only been a couple of months so maybe that will change, but not the distraction/activity I hoped it would be.

Great fun and educational too.

I purchased these for my four year old as a Christmas present and they’ve been a huge hit. They’re larger than I expected which is great as I think they would be harder to crack open if they were small. My two year old has discovered that if you throw them on the floor hard enough, they do pop open (I am trying to discourage this, but toddlers are so strong-willed). My four year old loves the fact that you get the coloured gems inside. Educationally speaking, it’s great for fine motor and colour matching.

Great learning activity for kids- lots of ways to plah

Excellent set for three year old to work on hand eye coordination. Seems quite durable. Many ways to play. You can put other objects in the rocks, search for shapes or match the colours.

One of the better toys out there

My 3 year old & 5 year old can play with this for ages. Really sturdy toy with lots of parts to keep them entertained. We love playing it together & they’re learning at the same time.
