I haven’t found a comparable brand. Mag Formers is the best! I’ve had some for nearly 20 years!
The magnets are very strong and children love feeling the tug and pull. Best of all, the magnets are enclosed so they don’t taunt children to try and pry the magnets out of the toy. That’s been the biggest problem I’ve seen with the knock-off brands. These have actually been safe for smaller children as well as special needs children that I have worked with. Nothing else has compared. I do wish they still had some of the originals. I would love to replace missing pieces from my old sets. I bought them when they were still in demonstration mode. These are incredible! And as far as birthday gifts, I’ve had the parents of a one-year-old thank me because their daughter loves them so much. They are great in a cast-iron bathtub, on metal doors & frames, and it’s fun watching them explore and create new patterns.

Great toy on the go
My daughter is entertained for hours. Great for restaurant or long car ride. She’ll play along with figurines. Quality is great too, strong magnets.

Hold together better than other magnetic building toys
I bought two of these 14-piece sets for my daughter for Christmas, along with a 100-piece set of Magnetic Stick n' Stack tiles (similar to Magna Tiles). I wish we had the larger quantity of Magformers instead of the Stick n'Stack Tiles. The Magformers hold together better when you build something, and do not collapse on themselves as easily as the magnetic tiles do. They are also easier to handle, because little fingers can grasp the edges, whereas the Magna Tiles are solid pieces, and harder to grasp, especially when stuck together in a stack. The Magformers are smaller than the magnetic tiles, and while they do stick to the other brands, their size is not compatible. You should read manufacturers' descriptions of tile sizes if you want these to align perfectly with other magnetic building toys. I rate this product 4 stars only because the prices are so high. I was able to get these at a reduced price using Amazon Prime, but I still paid about one dollar per piece. Even after all that expense, my daughter, who just turned 3, preferred the old-fashioned wooden blocks for building. The wooden blocks were fifteen cents a piece, by the way. I think these toys are better for a child who is a bit older than mine. We will see if she becomes more interested in them. So far, the adults like these better than the 3 year old likes them.

Great set, sturdy and keeps my child occupied
We love these, I originally bought these for Christmas I think....well turns out I had enough and these made their appearance at Easter. Had I known how much my daughter liked them and used them I would have pushed something else to Easter. These are great, and get a lot of use. I was worried about her dropping them on our hardwood floors. But so far so good. Still keeping my eye on them, I have a crawling baby in the house. She likes these so much, I will be looking at the add on kits. I know that I will be bringing this set on our future car trips this summer as they keep my four year old occupied. Not the plane though, loosing too many pieces will be sad as these are not the cheapest toy. But totally worth it for the use that they have gotten thus far.

These are like a toddler drug in our house. My 2 year old is totally obsessed. We have the large magnatiles set as well but I bought this smaller set to have an on the go set. I stuck them in a little pouch and they are great for car trips, dinners out, plane rides, etc. I wasn’t sure what the hype with these toys was initially but I get it. Yes, it keeps my toddler entertained but it’s much more than that. She is engaging in so much creative play when she plays with them and it forces her to name the colors and shapes when we build together. Such a great learning toy and I definitely get the hype now!

Greats for kids and adults!
I like the quality and the pink colors. I use them in a preschool and my grand kids play with them too. It's funny because when I get them out for my grandsons the adults get right into it and start building elaborate buildings, robots and structures!! Everyone loves them!

Five year old loves them
These are great quality. What an awesome building toy! I purchased two of these sets to add to a 30 set as these were on sale. The 14 set by itself would be pretty limiting. Best to go with 30 pieces or more if it's a first set.

Expensive and not sure if it's worth it
These are as advertised and they've held up well during initial use; however, I find them expensive for what they are and they don't keep my kiddos engaged for very long.
