Repeated Fun For The Win

A decent way for your kiddo to practice reading and writing the alphabet. Different aspects of each page allow it to grow with your child as their development and understanding progress. We have a bunch of different themes and every one has been popular with my son for over a year. So definitely recommend, especially as they aren't expensive. The only problem I have run into is the fact that as he is trying to trace the letters the brush doesn't allow for smooth changing of direction. Even I have had issues making the letters be shaped correctly. The same has been true of the Numbers Water Wow. Also worth noting is that these don't store easily due to the compartment for the water pen.

Endless fun for little ones

My 3 year old godson is obsessed. Got the abc, the dinosaurs, and the ocean one. I was surprised how much he was into it. I love that it wont make a mess but still teaches him hand-eye coordination and gives him a quiet activity that he can play on his own or in the car. 10/10.

Perfect for remaining seated with your seatbelt fastened...

As a mom of a 2y, 4y, and 6y old, I think these books are a great product! Every age loves them. Don't know what space-age technology is being used that these things can be soaked with water to reveal a pretty picture and then dry to original state! Don't care! So perfect for quiet times for kids. A stranger on an airplane first let me use hers when my 2yo was flipping out mid-flight. Instant quiet! PRICELESS. I just kept refilling the pen/brush with a water bottle. (God bless that stranger, wherever she is now!) I had to look these up immediately and buy for my kids. I love for travel, restaurants, doctors' appointment, etc., not to mention the educational value of this particular one in teaching how to write letters (other books are mostly coloring and are just for fun.) My kids were obsessed with these for a long time after receiving and are still content to play with them whenever I pull out of my bag. Books are now pretty warped from amount of water they've been soaked with from the many, many, many times they have been used, but the drying effect continues to work. I frankly didn't expect the pages to still be working after this amount of use (and it wouldn't have mattered since price is relatively inexpensive.) These are my new go-to gift for friends and relatives with kids 7-ish and younger.

Great On The Go

Granddaughter (just turned 2) loves these. Highly recommend. I gave her the floor mat that you use a water pencil and it makes color appear when she was 18 months & her parents said she stayed occupied for 1 hour or longer. Can’t go wrong with Melissa & Doug!!

Great for toddlers!

We bought 4 different styles of the "Water Wow" to use at church with our 2 year old twin toddlers. They are a lifesaver!!! It is HARD to get a 2 year old to be quiet for an hour, and this book helps for a good 20-30 minutes! Pros: -Bright colors, easy to use -Dries super quick so you can draw on it again in a matter of minutes Cons: -The major con about this book is the paintbrush/pen. You have to be somewhat gentle with it. One of my twins does great and doesn't have any problems with it. She uses it in her hand like a pencil and makes the strokes to show the colors. My other twin, however, pushes straight down on the brush and it frays out all the fibers. She doesn't understand how to do it any other way. Because of this we have gone through 2 of these pens and had to buy all new books. Why don't they just sell the replacement pens?! When toddlers press down on them hard (which WILL happen) they stop working after a few times. -If you scratch the pen tip hard against the page, it will make a permanent scratch on the book page.

My kids love those things. Even my (4 months old can use it and I dont have to worry about any kind of mess. Only thing is that for some pen the water leaka easily while other it barely comes out. Not the end of the world but it can create a few headache (water has filled in the pen compartment, my 3 years old not happy about yhe water not coming out fast enough haha). But honestly I have like 10 of them. They are so worth it.

Great idea! Love it, and the brush worked brilliantly well to start with, until my nearly 3yo had scrubbed it into a bushy mess, when it wasn't quite so good! Don't know how that could be addressed, really, as it's technically "user error" - but if they could be made more robust, I'd have given it 5 stars.

Book good, 'Pen' terrible - buy alternative spares.

Brought as needed water book with capitals and small letters however water pen included is not fit for purpose. The book is as expected. The 'water-pen' is more of a brush - hence not enough control to write letters and lets too much water out - pages are now soaked and will take ages to dry. Fortunately we have plenty of other water-pens.
