Really works to cool a hot room for the night

I was skeptical but this is inexpensive compared to an AC and does not need venting or any emptying. Use ice from your ice maker for a really cooling night in even a large room. I’m a fan.

Colder Than You Might Think!

What a pleasant surprise! The Pelonis Evaporative Air Cooler works at least as well as a small air conditioner. Truth be told it actually gave me a chill when I sat too close to it. Doesn't compromise home security by needing to stick out a window, AND it doesn't use ergs of excess electricity, too. I like it; I really do; and I might just get another one for our bedroom. Doesn't dry out the air like conventional AC will; and, so far, it hasn't given me a stiff neck either. My best guess is that it cools as well as a small 6,000 BTU AC unit. Definitely a winner! The only possible drawback is that every 4 to 6 hours it needs to have a gallon jug of cold water added to it. (We refill it from an old plastic milk jug.) We also use a couple of refreezable ice packs we had on hand; just drop them into the water tank, but the Pelonis unit also comes with two refreezable ice packs of its own.

Didn't use all options yet

It's helping to cool my hot kitchen, best if I direct air towards me. That's my main purpose in getting this cooling fan, so i don't plan to use the sleep mode. I just set it up so I haven't tried the remote yet. Noise level is very comfortable, definitely less noise than regular fans.

Just what I was looking for

Had to send back a different fan as it leaked using the cooling mode. 2 days now with this fan and all good so far. Day 1 was a bit humid so cooking was minimal, but today humidity is lower and I can totally feel the cooler air output. Also big fan of the blades rotating and not the entire tower when oscillation is on. 1 issue… fan arrived with NO REMOTE. Shows remote on Amazon and on box/manual, but no remote to be found. Maybe someone will read this and get a remote my way ????????.

I work in the garage and this is awesome

The garage can get pretty hot in the summer and I don't have a window to put an AC unit inside the garage. This thing def has cooled things down a bit. Besides the cool air, it does cool down the area by 3-5 degrees. Which doesn't seem like much... But that plus the cool air, I will be able to survive the rest of rg summer working from home in rye garage.

Not strong enough for the tropics

Like the shape, size of the unit. Like the amount and current of the air that blows, but the cooling effect is none existing. I use it for my studio space and having a unit with a filter it's nice. Other than that, I won't bother getting water in the tank.. it just creates a very humid space and no actual cooling
