For the price it's fine. I would have bought something else knowing what I know now.

I bought this board to get around from place the place on my college campus. Overall, I'd recommend something else, but I'll get to that later. The trucks can be loose enough to rub on the board, so be careful of that. The stock bearings are pretty crap, a cheap set of just about anything else is better. But I used the stock for 5-6 months so it's not something a beginner will notice to much. Just put them on the list of things to buy. The middle flexes a lot, enough that 155lb (+40lb backpack sometimes) me worries about it. Put your weight over the trucks and your fine. Other reviews show cracked boards. Just be smart about it. The turning is pretty tight, it's easy enough to learn on and get the hang of. I recommend tighter trucks for learning, then loosen as you get more skill/more comfort. The wheels won't push anything out of the way, if there's a rock, the board will stop. And you'll keep moving. I know from experience. It's a pretty smooth ride, certainly way more then a normal skateboard and will go faster then a normal skateboard. Won't do any tricks other then just leaning the front wheels up and turning a little, but it takes a lot of practice. A normal skateboard does that way, way better. Leaves tricks to normal boards is what I'm getting at. It acts more like a longboard then anything in my opinion, but you get the downsides of it not being a longboard and having smaller wheels, and the only upside is slightly tighter turning vs a 38" longboard (drop thru style board) It's not much of a difference. Here's why I'd recommend something else, at least for someone like me using it as transport across campus. A longboard is just better. It's that simple. A longboard is smoother, faster, more stable, turns almost as well (depending on board), kicks rocks out of the way instead of you going flying, easier to ride. The list goes on. Unless your super strapped for cash, spend a few more bucks and get a longboard, you'll be glad you did. I now have a 38" drop thru style longboard w/ reds bearings and it's all I use. I don't use this board anymore at all. For the price, I feel I got my use out of it, so I'm not complaining necessarily, but I would have just bought a different board to begin with. But this was my first board I've ever owned, so I didn't know.

good-ish board

i got this board and i was really exited to use it. when i opened it up the trucks were all scratched up and the wheels were dusty, but the board itself was brand new. this made me a little upset, but when i went to ride the board, it was near impossible to turn. i have to grab a tool and lossen them and then it got better. after that i'll admit it was pretty fun. overall knowing this i probably would have still bought it, but still, they gave me what looks like used trucks and wheels. not cool retrospec.

You get what you pay for

I am extremely satisfied with the Penney board. But I only spent around 44 dollars. The middle is very flimsy and when ever I get on it start bending just a little. Honestly if you’re going to buy a board this cheap expect this. I also weigh around 120 pounds so if it was flimsy for me I can’t imagine what it was like for heavier people. Time to get to the positive part. The board was very easy to learn with because it several minutes I could already do turns. I have also never touched a penny board before. Really good for beginners but the sturdiness is not there. Thanks for reading!

lovely little board, you get what you pay for...

after reviewing the negative reviews people have to understand one thing... things that come straight from a factory line will NEED to be adjusted and set up to YOUR personal liking and preference. I had to tighten up the trucks and loosen up the nuts on the bearings/wheels and bam, she rides like a champ! I plan to use this on vacation and give it away to a kid when I leave :)

En pocas palabras la recomiendo mucho, quedé muy feliz con la compra. PROS: Excelente precio Buena resistencia Buena velocidad Fácil de limpiar CONTRAS: Con poco que se ensucie se nota mucho Con tu peso (subimos desde 55kg, 74kg y alguien de 90 kg) se dobla bastante el plástico y no da mucha confianza al principio. (pero no pasa nada, aguanta bien) Se maltrata bastante rápido el material pero sólo superficialmente.

best for beginners

Retrospec makes quality product at affordable price point. My 11 year old son just loves it and enjoys his summer vacation learning skateboard. In-fact it is a well built equivalent to penny board. Easy for him to carry around and enjoy learning in the skateboard park. He made a lot of progress in the 2 weeks period he had his. Only downside is buying this as the stock availability changes all the time during the day for different colors (caused little bit of issue of buying the color of his choice)

Me gustó mucho, al principio tenía mis dudas sobre la calidad del producto pero después de más de 15 días de uso rudo y mantenimiento adecuado y rutinario se ha mantenido en perfecto estado, no es broma ni clickbite mi título, de verdad un auto le paso por encima por accidente, afortunadamente nadie salió herido y la patineta sigue como si nada, las fotos adjuntas fueron capturadas después de la anécdota del vehículo jajaja, la recomiendo 100%
