Product works fine, service . . . not so much.

I have used this spoke prep before and it works fine, just needed some more. I ordered it from Bell's Bike Shop because they had it. It took them a couple of days to ship it the slowest method possible which is ok I wasn't in a hurry. When I got the package the cap was loose and the spoke prep had leaked all over inside the padded envelope. I have lost 1/4 of the bottle before I even started using it. I will buy this product again, just not from Bell's.

Some loosening of low tension spokes, not impressed so far but giving it a second chance. Virtually no instructions.

Not much in the way of instructions other than "Shake Well Before Use". I contacted Rock n Roll and was told that the product should be applied to the threads and assembled wet, which is different than some other spoke prep products that are applied to the threads and allowed to dry before assembly (Wheelsmith Spoke Prep for one). There is also no information about time before putting the wheel into service. I assembled one rear wheel with the product per the instructions that were provided to me by email from the company. I gave it 24 hours and then put it into use. Within a few rides I had one spoke nipple back off enough to produce a noticable wobble. Upon inspection, the neighboring crossing spoke also had lost some tension. These were both on the non-drive side (low tension side). The remaining spokes were all tight. When I got home, I backed both nipples off and reapplied the Nipple Cream then brought the wheel back to true with even tension. I'll give it 72 hours to set up and then try it again. I'll update this to let buyers know how it works.

Plenty of web forum debates about using or not. I generally do. Sometimes I use park grease. Nipple cream is more like a super mild lock tite and grease in one. Months after using it nips spin smoothly if necessary

Hold em tight

I’ve built a few wheels and finally had a failure. Probably didn’t tension the spoke enough and all the spokes came loose after one ride. So I rebuilt the wheel using this product and they’ve all stayed in place this time.

Exactly what I needed

I tried building my wheels with just lube. It works most of the time, but one of my buddies' wheel always loosened up. The local bike store quoted an insane amount for Wheelsmith Spoke Prep, so I found this Nipple Cream here. It goes on as a liquid, but dries and hardens to a paste. The Rock N Roll cream worked well and his wheel has been fine for over a month of mountain biking.

Made trueing smooth and seems to help hold tension but allow for adjustment later.

Loosened

This spoke prep seems to be more of a lubricant than a anti-loosening agent. I tensioned the wheel very high, yet the spokes all backed off after a few rides. I've had better luck with wheel smith prep and light duty loctite (222).

This is a LOT of cream.
