Get what you pay for

Metal and lock seem a little light duty, easy to bend or cut. But it gets the job done and makes anyone think twice about steal my small outboard. It’s four stars from me as it could be heavier built but that would also increase overall price.

So so outboard lock

This item is easy to install and will fit over the outboard clamp handles of most if not all outboards with them. The lock bar seems a bit thin and not as hardy as the old Master Lock it replaced. The whole bar rattles and the lock is loose in the mounting holes so it bounces around enhancing the rattle. The bar needs some sort of foam liner or rubber on the edges where it slips over the handle and the lock should be of a better fit into the mounting holes. All in all it works and the rattle can be stopped or lessoned at least. Longevity of the coating is still under review.

Does what i wanted

Its not the sturdy as i would like but my 20hp isnt going anywhere as its bolted to transom and not in thief friendly spot so its just little added protection

Not very durable

If you need a cheap lock on your outboard motor to deter someone this is a good choice if you live in an area where crime is a little more prevalent I would suggest a stronger and sturdier lock otherwise this is a great cheap option to deter someone

Peace of mind...

This was for a friends boat. He'd just bought a small motor for it. And being small they are so easy for someone to walk away with it. Hopefully this lock will stop theft.

Nice and easy to install. Seems like a solid product. I will update this review if I have issues once the open water season ends.

Mariner 20hp.

Works fine with my Mariner 20hp. I read in the reviews that it rattles. I can rattle it by hand but don't notice anything while driving the boat. Someone could still steal your motor but it would take time and make a lot of noise getting it off. Looks good and works fine. Easy enough to get on and off with the key.

Worth the money!

Works great, i can use the tilt on my yamaha 9.9 with ease! It does vibrate so i will me stuffing something inside it but other then that, i love it!

Solid device

This product works great and preforms exactly as described. It does rattle a bit but that was easily fixed.

Good for the price

A bit flimsy but fits on don't think it will stop anyone from taking the engine but have it as a deterrent for insurance. Need to take off when starting engine as it rattles too much.

Not very good quality. Very cheaply made. Not hard to get off and steal your outboard motor
