Sharkbite fixtures are so nice and easy to install

I am "refresshing" all my toilets after 17 years with new gaskets, supply lines, and bolts. I was growing more concerned that we were going to have a toilet supply-hose failure that causes a flood. I've used sharkbite connectors in other projects and love the simplicity and reversibility. This review is for the straight toilet connector, but I actually also bought one of the sharkbite PEX toilet kits (with both end connectors and a 5' piece of 1/4" white PEX line). But I could not find the kit with a straight connector, which one of my toilets needed. Not a problem since there is plenty of PEX line in the kit for 4 or 5 toilets. I like that the PEX is more reliable than a braided hose supply too.

Plumbing "magic" fittings! hallaleuia!

These work very well. I used them to replace failed gate valves. Used pipe cutter to cut both copper (1/2") and pex pipe... Brushed cleaned copper pipe, pressed both pipes into fitting. These are as close to magic as you get, and is exactly what us plumbing DIYers needed! There's still a lot I like about soldering--probably a "proven test of time" thing... on new construction... but these have a lot of advantages when replacing around finished walls/cabinetry where operating a torch can be difficult. Compression fittings have always been frustrating--sharkbite beats them across the board!

Long-lasting and great quality.

Don't even think about not getting one of these. Very easy to install and long-lasting. Be sure to get the disconnect clips. It has been several weeks since I installed it. The pieces on the ends may actually be the disconnect clips for the unit. They certainly look like it. I thought they were a sort of trim ring.
