It's stretchy, not in a good way

I purchased this to replace the hammock in a hammock frame I use in our backyard. The other hammock strings had rubbed on a wing nut and worn out some of the strings. This had the same dimensions so I ordered it thinking I could use it in the same frame. Nope. While this is the same length, it has incredible stretch. I went to get into it the first time and much to my surprise I lowered myself into it and was laying flat on the ground and the metal support bar of the frame. I tied one end into a knot to shorten it and tried again. For a minute I was precariously hovering about an inch above the ground, but this hammock sighed and gave up and there I was, a land based mammal once again. Frustrated but persistent, I tried once more. Tying both ends into knots. New problem: it not wasn't long enough to stretch onto my frame. Knowing I couldn't make a retrograde step back to despair, I enlisted one of my strudy children and between the two of us we got both ends hooked. This hammock was stretched as tight as a guitar string between the ends of the frame, but knowing its sneaky stretching powers, I was undeterred. I carefully lowered myself in and after a few minutes had settled in to a comfortable hammock. Not sure why it is so stretchy, but be aware you may have to do some engineering if you want to use this in a hammock frame.

I loved it, took it for camping and it was the best therapy I had in a long time. It was sturdy and just perfect, for my size which I am a big girl.

Got this hammock as a replacement from my old hammock that wore out. This new one fits my old stand. It very comfortable and sturdy so far so good. The price was great.
