Slim and Tall

These are not air tight containers. I use aluminum foil, wrap around threads and then put the lid on to make it air tight. It’s too tall for my refrigerator door so had to adjust the interior shelves to make it fit.

Great for All Kinds of Panty Items

So far these work well for the items I put in there. I use mine for dog food, cereal, oatmeal, packets of gravy mix, crackers etc. I love the extra protection they give to keep food safe from spoiling and critters. Light weight so easy to lift with the side indentions. Easy access.

These containers are no where near airtight.

Against my better judgement I purchased the large and small containers. I purchased these for various dog treats. The description states that these containers have a snap tight lid, helps with odor control, preserves freshness & keeps dog, bird and cat food from getting stale. First off the lids feel cheap. I knew they were not up to the job when I did the initial washing on the containers. I added a little water, secured the lid as tight as possible and shook the container to clean it before adding the dog treats. While shaking the container water came out of the “snap tight” lid. There is no way they will keep anything fresh. I can’t even think of anything they would be good for. I blame myself for buying something that didn’t have any reviews.

Lightweight with easy hand grip. The indented hand grip makes this feel very secure in my hands. It has a flip top lid, or you can twist off the lid. The canisters have a slightly flexible feel. Not sure if they would handle a drop, but so far they are doing well for my use. I have one with various snack bars stuffed in it (KIND breakfast bars), one with links of dried chorizo (in a package, not bare), one with single servings packets of flavored almonds, and one with a bag of dried fruit. I figured being in the bag then in this container should help keep it moist. As for air tight? I have no intention of using it for super long term storage. For something to be able to be filled with water and not leak, it would need a gasket. This is not meant to be used like that. It's for dry goods, and it seems pretty air tight; but I dont recall it having a gasket. I will need to double check. I really doubt it. Even so, lid has good fit. But I cant say for sure. I think just be smart on what you are using these for. So I would say for basic storage, or for longer storage, just make sure the items are packed well. I think these are a bargain for what equals to $3 a piece. I think I may get more as I am liking how these are working out. Mine came all in one piece, no damage. Hopefully that continues to hold true for future orders.

Inexpensive easy-open containers for storing pet food & bird seed

I am using the first one of the 4 to hold cat food. These are almost perfect for holding the contents of a 4 lb bag of cat food. The lid screws on but there is a flip lid which makes it easy to pour out food into my cats' dish. I'll bring another couple up to my mom's apartment to store her bird seed in. If I leave her bird seed in the bag, it gets bugs so am hoping this will keep the bugs out. I've noticed other reviewers talking about storing flour or sugar in them. Just don't. They are designed for pet food and the flip lid is nowhere secure enough for food storage. Buy food grade storage for people food and leave these for pet food.
