Durability is Key

From testing outside of the pipes I installed it in, it does what I want. The pool pump opens the swing flap easily with almost zero pressure. The opening is large enough so as not to restrict flow. The only question is "will it last"?. That's why I won't give the check valve top marks right now. It may ultimately deserve them, but I won't know that until after a few years of use. So far, it's fine, but time will tell.

Using on a sprinkler works fine.

Bought this for my sprinkler pump that feeds off of a local Lake and it works perfect as a one-way valve. After the valve I have a float on the end of my pvc in the lake that has a filter.

Good Valve

I have not installed this yet, but as a trial i ran tap water backwards into the valve, and the valve closed and did not leak. The flapper is on a rubber piece that allows the flapper to move easily to open, and as I demonstrated it also closes well. This is regular strong schedule 40 feeling material.

Poor quality manufacture

Glad I tested it before installing it on our irrigation suction line. Flapper doesn't quite seal and there were two nicks in the plastic, probably from incomplete fill in the injection molding manufacturing process. Return process was dirt simple though and rather than just saying send me a replacement, I went back and ordered the same thing again but - for $2 less, go figure.
