Every houselhold needs one of these.....

On any wood surface with a sheen to it, this little "tool" is a must! Covers little scratches and nicks with ease. This little gem will not fill in gouges or any deep scratches or nicks, but covers nicely little scratches, etc. Glossy when dry, so not to be used on matte finished surfaces. Thanks Varathane!

Learning Curve

Saw a lot of reviews claiming this doesn’t work. Tip is to apply, wait maybe five seconds or more, then wipe off with a lint free rag. I use the touch up stain pens that match my floors, allow it to dry maybe for a day, then apply this. Touch up can often leave a haze though it helps to obviously match the color. This clear coat adds shine helping to disguise the touched up areas on satin finish wood floors, coating over the haze. No touch up is perfect, but this will help disguise blemishes in your wood floors so they are less eye catching.

Worked For Me

I bought this to repair some scratches in my vinyl plank flooring, and it works reasonably well for that. I didn't expect a $7 pen to completely remove scratches, but I was able to make them look better with a few coats and some careful blending. My flooring has a satin finish, and I wouldn't recommend this product for anything less shiny than that. The reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is because of the pen's width. Given that it's made to fix small scratches, I'm baffled as to why it uses an applicator pad that's bigger than a dime. Fortunately, you can drag a toothpick across the pad and use that to apply the polyurethane if you need a finer tip.

Fantastic product

Fixed scratches in my wood floors and freshened a section of wood countertop that had lost its polyurethane finish. Both turned out really well. This is an amazing product.

Performs as advertised

It’s just varnish. Easy enough to dab on a few coats, let it dry, then lightly blend in with some #0000 steel wool if you’re working with a semi or satin finish. Woodshop 101
