Works the way it should

I purchased this after my 5 year old one broke trying to carry too much of a load. Even though the wheels are not as big as my last one, it still does the job. If you have never had a 3 wheeled cart, then you are missing out. Go up and down steps and door thesholds with ease. The extra 4 wheels that can be added on the bottom are great when you need to wheel cartons around. Sturdy and lightweight

Not made for everyday use over longer trips.

The wheels are not of good quality. Wobbling after 3 weeks. Using for a worksite to transport my work bag over 200 yards including 1 set of 6 steps each way weighing about 30 lbs.

Hard to put together

This should have been a 10 minute assembly but it took me 1 hour. The assembly mainly consist of placing and securing the nuts and bolts. It came with 2 tools that were almost completely useless as well as an instruction manual with few and barely visible photo references. It also came poorly packaged resulting in damage and scratches all throughout the product. Functionality wise it works okay but it is on flimsier side. Lastly appearance is you get what you pay for (cheap).

recommend choosing another product

I HATED assembly. Instructions were poor. Assembling it hurt my hands. There were 8 nuts and bolts and 2 near worthless tools to use in assembling the 4 wheels for level ground. The provided wrench is somewhere between 1/3 and 1/4 the depth of the nut so it slips off easily while turning the nut. The wrench was harder than necessary to use. The provided handle tool with a Phillips head to hold the bolt securely is too short to hold comfortably or grasp well. The part after the bend should have been at least the same size as a person's palm to hold it in. I don't understand why the manufacturer didn't simply complete the assembly before shipping. The assembled dolly is more flimsy than expected. The two bungy cords have ends that slide to the middle - low quality. While the loaded dolly makes it upstairs okay, navigating on flat ground is more clumsy. There is no brake or stand to stop it from rolling off or falling over as boxes are unloaded. Without the boxes it decided several times going downstairs for another load to fold itself up. It is stiff to unfold. I would not buy it again. It does the job of getting upstairs, but doesn't do anything particularly well. But it was too much of a pain to assemble, literally, for me to send it back and choose a similar product.

Climbs Stairs But Objects Need to be Lifted on it First

This handtruck needs to be assembled before use. It has nylon threaded nuts but I used a power nut driver and had no issues assembling the product. The product features axles with three wheels on a rotating frame that follow a staircase, regardless of up or down direction. There are two extra wheels included that store on the lower platform. The handle features foam padding, and there is a back stay to support the handtruck under load when it is tilted back, relieving the user of having to balance the load. The product includes two 48 inch (measured unstretched) bungee cords with modest size hooks on both ends. The handle retracts, the back stay folds in, and the lower platform folds up for storage (see attached photo). When all parts are extended, the product is ready for use (see attached photo). I tested the product by moving two 80 pound boxes that UPS left on my front porch. The handtruck accommodated the boxes easily and the trip down the porch steps was uneventful. I will point out that even though this product has three wheels on each side, they do not provide a dampening effect when going downstairs. It is up to the operator to prevent the handcart from hitting the next step too hard. Most hand trucks have a beveled leading edge on the lower platform, allowing it to be slipped under boxes without having to lift the box onto the hand truck. This product is different. The lower platform is 2 5/8 inches above the ground and most objects will need to be hefted up onto the platform before the handtruck can be used to move them (see attached photo). I deducted one star for this because lifting 80 pound boxes of fertilizer onto the handtruck is not my idea of a fun time. To improve the product, a future enhancement I recommend would be to redesign the lower platform so it is flush to the surface and bevel the leading edge to allow the handtruck to slide underneath boxes, like most other hand trucks on the Earth. Aside from this major impediment to efficiency, I like this product. It is well-built and serves a specific need for those who have to move heavy objects up and down staircases.
