The detail is amazing. The crane actually works, and the color is stunning. I just need to find a Canadian Pacific caboose (if one exists) to complete my set.

Very good for modeling

When I bought this i read the reviews and thought it would arrive in peices, but it didn't, turns out those reviews said that because they let children play with them like its a toy, when its meant for modelers, when used correctly its actually a great piece of rolling stock, especially for its price, while I dont like that its all plastic I think its still reasonably priced and it works well within my logging set

Awesome HO train car

My little guy loves this one particularly because it has a use in his layout. Pricing is excellent for this quality and will probably be handed down as my sets were. No wasted money in a set like this. Absolutely recommended.

Ok, I guess.

For the price it is ok.The boom has a lever to move parts which looks out of place, but then so do the crane cars.Just looks strange to me, else ok.

Detailed, many working parts, pairs well with the flatbed car and logs. Very well made.

Fun crane, my 7 year old loves it

My son picked this out for his birthday present, to go with his small train set. It arrived quickly but there are two small plastic tabs that connect the crane cab to the car chassis and they were both broken off so the crane and cab could not fasten to the car. I contacted Walthers by phone that same day and they shipped out a replacement part, arriving just a few days later... Excellent customer service. My son loves the crane car and has small logs/trees he uses to play with it. Overall, a good buy. Just be aware that it is somewhat fragile, as most model train cars are.
