Nice assortment of wooden dowels

I needed some wooden dowels to fill some holes in a butcher block table top. The table was previously used for supporting machinery and consequently got drilled with many holes. I filled all the holes with these dowels and a bit of carpenters glue. Then I cut and sanded the dowels flush with the table top. It came out good. Some of the dowels have a different shade of color (darker and lighter wood) but that wasn't an issue for what I needed. Good quality and assortment.

Not 400 dowels as advertised.

These are ok. Packaged in nice reusable case/container. Not worth quibbling over a couple dowel pins, but I am disappointed that I did not receive all 400 dowels pins as advertised. I have not used them yet, but will be cognizant of the sizing before I drill - as some have said that they are undersized. Pros: Nice container. Dowel Pins seem ok, have not checked them with caliper to see if sized as claimed. Cons: Mine came with 196/ea-1/4 in; 196/ea- 5/16 in; and 100/ea-3/8 in; for a total of 392 out of an advertised 400. Of the pins received, several (about 5) can't be used due to damage - i.e., split in half, cut too short, or just plain "hinky." Biggest gripe is that I paid $9.99, and now they are priced on Amazon at $8.57. Overall still a good deal, but I deducted a couple stars for truth in advertising.

Great buy for your money.

I bought these on a whim to use for woodworking projects. I was able to use them for the first time while building a wooden bath tray. They glue the pieces I needed in place very easily. I was able to cut and sand the addition wood. The are pretty sturdy for small projects. I haven’t used them in anything large yet, and hesitate to do so. I think will always be better suited for light small projects.

GREAT WOODEN DOWEL SET, 4 DIFFERENT SIZES

These wooden dowels are perfect to have around for many projects. I was installing a basement transition piece and needed to drill into concrete. (Never did it before) I laid my transition piece down and marked the holes then I drilled the holes the size of the smallest dowel. I then plugged the dowel into the concrete and was able to then screw into the wooden dowel that was pushed into the concrete hole. Holds very sturdy!!! Please let me know if this review helps!

Great Product

I bought a dowel kit last year and this is used to restock the kit. I use dowels when joining two pieces of wood to make the joint stronger.

Wood dowel is in good quality wood except for a few of them. The price is not that expensive in comparison with what you find in hardware store.
