Nice Cargo Bag

Curt makes a nice and affordable cargo bag. Recently used this cargo bag on a trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier. Went a total of 3000 miles through the mountain snows and plains rains and kept 99.9% of the moisture out. I am very happy with this purchase. Very simple to use. I would caution also like I had read in the reviews, in the more frigid cold weather, the material is stiffer and you should work the zipper at the corners with attention and not force it. Straighten it out and it will zip. Highly recommend this Curt cargo bag and would purchase again.

Great for traveling

This bag was a great purchase. We had some snow and rail fall during our week long trip and everything inside stayed dry. The only issue was when the bag was subjected to cold weather it got really stiff and slightly difficult to bend the material over the zipper. Also, we opted to use our own straps to tie down the bag to the cargo carrier because it was more time consuming using the tie downs that were attached to the bag. Overall a great purchase,

12k mile road trip to Alaska, worked perfectly

This bag kept Alaska dust and water out on a 12k mile Alaska road trip (2022), unlike my Yakima Exo Gearbox. It is good thickness with an excellent zipper and useful velcro on a good over-the-zipper lip. I used the bag on my Yakima Exo basket (Gear Warrior), filled with lighter but bulky camping gear. I was careful to buy one the right size and didn't stress it by packing it so full I couldn't zip it shut. The straps worked fine for me - didn't pull out or tear the bag at all and the bag never shifted, despite some off roading and 3k miles of gravel roads. That said, unless you have bowling balls inside, you don't need to strap it down ridiculously tight. I couldn't have asked more from a trailer hitch basket bag. Cleaned up now, it shows virtually no wear and tear. This one is a winner.

Great for vacation

We used this for a weeklong trip to several locations. We opened and closed this a lot. Easy to use and definitely keeps out rain. Very happy with this purchase.

Couldn't be more happy with the CURT Cargo Bag for Hitch Carrier!

We travelled cross country from east coast, north, west and back using the Cargo bag to hold all of our camping and hiking gear, tent and luggage. Traveled over 14k miles through wind and rain and even snow in June! Everything was kept nice and dry.

Yup

Protects against rain. The pics make it look rigid, like the sides stand up like a box. But it’s really just a big bag. Works great, would give five stars if it was more like a jox

Heavy duty and durable in all weather!

I used this bag in the curt cargo basket it was designed for and had zero issues on cross country trips. The zipper is heavy duty and easy to use. I had no issues in all different weather including snow, rain and sandstorms. The straps to secure it to the cargo basket could be better but are still strong and durable. I’ve used a ratchet strap over the top of the bag as a precautionary measure and had no issues. Overall heavy duty materials surpassed my expectations even when the bag was maxed out with luggage. I had no signs of wear and tear, even after a dozen times of unloading and loading the bag to maximum capacity (4 large suitcases and a couple small duffel bags).

9000+ Mile Roadtrip - worked great!

We used this for a 40 day, 21 stop, 9,000+ mile, cross country road trip. This bag, at first, had me worried because when it was full I didn’t have it keeping its shape and I was concerned about the possibility of water riding up into the zipper. At no time did I have problems with water in this bag. We had several days of heavy rain, some of snow, some of 110 degree days, and this held out for all of them. I will note that my largest concern was the straps that it came with… I did not use them and used ratchet straps holding it down instead. Overall great bag, loved the design with the top folding back nicely, and overall easy to use.

thick, great quality, waterproof

we used it once for a two day trip, we needed to access it a lot of times. zippers are strong and the material is thick, I believe it to be durable. it rained a lot and as expected, no water went inside.

Perfect accessory for Curt 18153 carrier

Bag is a perfect fit and great accessory for the Curt 18153 cargo basket. It is heavy duty and seems very durable and while it got only a little rain while using it, it definitely seems like it would keep things very dry. The zipper is concealed under a large pull down flap hat secures nicely with several Velcro patches. Getting it tied down was a snap and it stayed very secure.

Recommend

This is a great addition to our SUV. We needed the extra room for the ski season and this bag holds all our ski bags. Nothing got wet inside on the drive home through thick snow.
