Use appropriate wiring

For my purpose I needed an internally mounted horn. I originally was not getting sound from it, just a buzzing, and noted other mentions of this. Connecting with 10Ga wire with good crimp blade connectors, directly to the battery, it sounded off with sufficient loudness. I was surprised at the difference the wire gauge made, but it does require 6A so you can figure out what wiring you will require depending on the wire run length. Also, with this amperage I will be using a relay even though usage is intermittent. Horn button is probably not rated for that current directly.

Works and it's pretty loud

I bought this horn a few weeks ago and just finished installing it 10 minutes ago. Then I just got a request to review it. A little eerie with the timing but I'll go with it. I thought this horn was a drop-in replacement for my 2002 Four Winns Funship but it's not. The mounting holes are 4 1/2 in apart instead of 4 in and the mounting screws go through the faceplate whereas the old faceplate snapped on. Nevertheless, by drilling 1 hole and switching to nuts and bolts instead of screws I was able to easily mount this horn. When I first tried the horn I got 1 click and then it was dead. My first thought was "what a piece of junk" but further investigation revealed that I had blown the fuse. My old horn used a 5 amp fuse and this horn needs 6 amps. I replaced the 5 amp fuse with a 10 amp and it works fine. I can't say anything about reliability yet since it's only been 10 minutes but it sounds OK and worked for 2 toots.

Replaced older horn

The old horn was 20 years old. While the grill looks similar, the new one is a little larger and the mechanism is larger and different configuration. I had to make a template and cut a larger hole. The result was a great looking new horn with a loud audible sound. Took about 20 min to install, and works great!

Awesome Boat Horn

The marine horn replaced my original boat horn on my pontoon boat. It sounds great, but it was a bit bigger than my original. We had to cut the opening in the boat housing to accommodate. Otherwise, a good purchase!

Easy plug and play replacement for the older one on my boat. But a lot louder. Clean look so far so good.

Almost exact replacement.

Horn works fine, but opening had to be carefully enlarged to accomodate the assembly (this due to Fiamm changing the origial mount system).
