Showing off this old house w/ solid hardware

I’m rehabbing a 1911 American Farmhouse style home and wanted hardware representing the craftsmanship of old hardware. All of the wooden windows were missing handles. The big box stores only had cheap rolled handles. The “vintage hardware” stores/websites wanted more than twice the amount. Very please. I am ordering more to make sure I have them on hand when I get to the other buildings.

Sturdy handle, but one caveat

I installed this handle on a sash window that was hard to open and required two hands to do so. The handle made it possible to open that window using one hand. This was important because one of my hands was out of commission for a few weeks (surgery). Other reviewers have said that the screws shipped with this handle were very poor, so I used some screws I already had and knew to be good quality, which created a very firm attachment to the window.

Great drawer pulls, use your own screws

I love the drawer pulls. I wanted something simple with an old-house feel to use in my custom made captain’s bed drawers. I wanted the feel of solid brass. These pulls are perfect for me in my Victorian era house. Since the drawers are on full extension slides, there is minimal friction, and we thought the screws might work. The screws, however, broke just from the torque of screwing them into the wood, and that is WITH pilot holes. We ended up having to drill out the broken screws. We then drilled through, and use brass machine screws and bolts from the back.

Best for cabinet or drawer

These handles are too small for a doorpull. They are solid. Definitely solid brass. Surely can be used for interior or exterior uses. I cannot use for my exterior shed doors as I had planned, but the quality is just too good to return. I will find a place for them soon enough! I priced similar items at a local mega-home-store, and the quality (thickness, which likely leads to durability) on those items were below this pull.

Beautiful solid brass, sturdy, great value

I absolutely love this door pull, but I returned it because it was too wide for my application (to pull a screen door closed -- the vertical wood piece is too narrow). I really wish I had a place to use it because it is so beautifully made and solid. None of the other screen door pulls compare in quality. For solid brass, the price was very reasonable.
