Great basic umbrella
Big fan of this umbrella. Works well. Sturdy. Reliable. But one star docked due to the small handle. If you have small hands, however, this will work great for you. Recommended.

This umbrella is amazing
I love the button system to getting the umbrella out and retract. I’m not horrified the umbrella could pinch me when I close it. It’s an amazing umbrella. Simple and sleek looking.

mostly good but yet to see if it's really better than most
I've used this umbrella a handful of times but only twice in fairly heavy rain. It works like any other umbrella but even with the wind vents, it will turn inside out pretty easily. Fortunately, it hasn't broken yet

A solid, good umbrella at a good price
I like that it is a bigger than a lot of folding umbrellas, and that it has nicely covered air holes to fight the wind. Opens and closes fine. My wife notes it is a little heavier, and harder to fold neatly to fit in her purse, that the ones we got on the street for $5 or so in Tokyo

It’s not as sturdy as reviewed.
Umbrella turned inside out the second time I used it. It was during a windy evening but is was described and reviewed as extremely sturdy. Handle is tiny and flimsy which makes it hard to hold.

Does the job
A high-quality and affordable option for anyone in need of a reliable umbrella. One of the standout features of this umbrella is its automatic open and close button, which makes it incredibly easy to use. I can open and close the umbrella with just one hand, which is especially helpful when I'm carrying groceries or other items. The compact size of the umbrella also makes it easy to carry in my bag or purse. Another great feature of this umbrella is its wind vent design, which helps to prevent the umbrella from turning inside out during strong gusts of wind. The umbrella is also made from high-quality materials and feels sturdy in my hand.

GOOD QUALITY GOOD VALUE
Bought this Amazon Basics to replace one that got misplaced. This product seems to be well-made and very similar to the more expensive one that I appear to have lost somewhere. However, I find it harder to close and lock. Seems to need more pressure in this regard.

Took a beating, still going after a year.
I just ordered my second after one year of use. I'm in the Pacific Northwest so it has gotten alot of use and held up very well. The wind has blown it inside out at least a dozen times and it just rebounds back into place when you turn it facing into the wind without damage. Good design, well made, opens with a nice snap to it and closes well, though you do have to push it in to fully close. I only hope they haven't changed anything in terms of materials, design, or construction. After a year, the old one is not gonna last a heck of alot longer - I can feel it loosening up so I bought the second one. Totally satisfied after what I put it through.

Watch out for leaks via "wind vent" when exposed to an Indian monsoon !!
**Diameter of the canopy is 38inches which is small - suited for children but not for full-sized adults. And definitely too small for sharing between 2 adults. **Handle is only 2.5inches long - and again suited for children; but very smooth and nice to hold - probably rubberized plastic. **Weight of umbrella is 395grams and feels heavier than similarly sized examples. **Powerful spring loaded action for opening and closing the umbrella at the click of a button - definitely the best part of this umbrella and very confidence inspiring! The ribs are metal, heavy duty and strong. Sitting on the passenger seat of a motorcycle moving between 40 to 50kph with sudden stops and starts, the umbrella held up very steadily. But I feel the most important function of an umbrella has been forgotten. Here's why.. I read glowing reviews of this umbrella on Amazon and esp. on thewirecutter(dot)com while hunting online. Would you believe it - this item is not available on Amazon USA website? It's true. Needless to say, I was taken by the positive recommendations and the "wind vent" which is basically a 2-piece design allowing one piece of polyster to be sewn over the other to accomodate air passage. Thus in windy situations, instead of your umbrella being an obstruction in a wind corridor and risk turning inside out or breaking apart, it allows the air to pass through while keeping the user dry - at least that was the general intention of the designers I think.. But today, while using my umbrella in the ongoing monsoons in north-east India I felt steady drops of water on my head and nose. I thought the water was blown by the wind but there it was again - a steady and slow drop definitely not blown sideways by the wind. I noticed that the "wind vent" was also allowing the water to push through! Attached photos show an overlap of 2.5inches between the two pieces of the canopy - clearly not enough to keep the water out in strong winds. Also, the branding seems to have changed - product images clearly show orange and white stitching of AmazonBasics on the Velcro strap but the item I received has all-white stitching.. I don't intend to return the umbrella even though this product is eligible for return within 1-month from the date of delivery! I purchased it for INR 799.00 but I've seen it offered for INR 649.00 during Lightning Deals. This product invokes mixed feelings.. happiness on the one hand for the invention of the "wind vent" yet frustration at sacrificing the primary function of an umbrella - KEEP THE WATER OUT !! If there was a rating between 2-star (I don't like it) and 3-star (It's okay), that would fit my experience thus far. Since there is no such rating, I select 3-star which equals ""running inside a building during very heavy rains and avoid sharing with anybody ;)""

2nd time i've bought this as 4 years later I can't find anything similar which is better.
I bought this item back in July 2018 and lost it last month. Hands down this was best travel umbrella I had so there was no other option when getting a new one. Let's go through the basics: It is a good size, with a slightly wider canopy than similar umbrella styles so it's better for taller larger people with that extra bit of coverage. The wind flap is well done and not once has this umbrella turned inside out when I've used it. Also, it feels safer that it won't fly out your hands or pull you down the street in stronger winds. The handle's auto open and auto close button has worked every time and I use this more feature than expected. It's not just a posh gimmick. If you are carrying another item (and don't have another hand free in heavy rain), being able to press the button to quickly collapse in the middle of downpour when arriving inside somewhere (eg a tube station entrance) is actually a very useful feature. It has never torn or sustained any damage in 4 years' normal use and the sheath cover is a good fit (not stupidly tight to get on like some others). There is nothing comparable for the price. If you are the kind of person who spends £5-10 on replacement umbrellas every year or so due to them breaking or getting damaged then this is a much better purchase in the long run and easily worth the money.

Highly disappointed
It has no value for money. Don’t get carried away by the looks of umbrella. Is very bad. It’s almost 900rs for one umbrella. I think with this money better products are available in market. I have not used it in rains but the umbrella gives zero protection from sun. It’s just a fancy product appealing for eyes. Nothing else. If you are really looking for an unbrella that serves the purpose then don’t go for this..

Small For Me.
The media could not be loaded. When I saw this umbrella on amazon,I just wanted to try the automatic closing mechanism which can be useful in so many situations. The umbrella looks good. It was so easy to dry due to its higher quality coating material.Only downside I could find is the size, this is too small for me which is a hugh bummer. Overall, considering the price, this is an OK purchase.

Well that was useless
If your a Scottish lass like me. Or live in a place where it often rains and winds. This umbrella is NOT for you. I took it out with me today, not even that bad wind, I even debated if my umbrella was worth getting out because it wasn't so bad with the rain. I figured since it's so big and bulky looking, that would mean the material is more sturdy? Nope. Flipped outwardly with the first blow of wind. Not to mention putting it up is fine but putting it down is a nightmare. You really gotta push down to make sure it doesn't spring open again
