Loud, sounds similar to a car horn, no batteries.
I've had a Delta AirZound bike horn since 2012. I chose it because it is both loud and low-pitched, similar to a car horn. Small electric horns can't produce a sound which is both loud and low-pitched – it's physics, they can produce a loud and high-pitched sound, or a low-pitched sound which isn't loud and therefore worthless as a bike horn. I have small electric horns on some of my bikes which are amazingly loud (albeit high-pitched) but on any bike on which I can easily fit one, I install a Delta AirAirZound. Nothing else I have tried comes close to getting the attention of motor vehicle operators. I don't know if it's saved my life but it's definitely saved me from getting hit a few times when a distracted driver slammed on the brakes or otherwise took evasive action when hearing the AirZound horn. (I have not yet tried the Loud Bike Horn Mini, a battery-powered horn which produces a sound which is both loud and low-pitched like a car horn. It is large, it is expensive, and the battery requires frequent recharging. It is tempting, though, for those bikes which will not easily fit an AirZound.) The Airzound is easy to install: Find a place on your handlebars with enough room for the trigger and horn combination (this is the hard part for some bikes) and in a place where you can easily reach the trigger. Then put the air reservoir (the bottle) into one of your bottle cages. You can also use velcro or tape or other methods to put the reservoir in a convenient location. The air hose between the reservoir and the horn is pretty long but you can purchase an extension if you need more length. Then pump it up! The Airzound has a Schrader valve underneath the plastic trigger button. Flip up the plastic trigger, attach your pump, and add air until you reach 80PSI. Do not go much over 80 PSI! The bottle won't burst but the various seals on the bottle and inside the horn itself are not designed for higher pressure. If you overpressure the reservoir the seals will eventually begin to leak which means the AirZound won't hold pressure for very long. My first AirZound is over 6 years old and the seals are still perfect even through hot 7 hot summers and 6 cold winters so far. It's possible to adjust the volume of the horn with a little plastic dial but even at its lowest volume it is still pretty loud, far too obnoxious to use on pedestrians or other cyclists. Get a fun squeeze-bulb horn or a bell to use in most situations. But when you need to get the attention of a motor vehicle operator or some booby jogging backward with a pair of earbuds blasting his cranium, well, give 'em a blast of the AirZound – that's what it's for. I've never run out of pressure during a single ride. I suppose it's possible but I do ride on NYC streets and it hasn't been a problem. I am quite disciplined about checking the pressure at least once a week and adding some pressure after a ride if I used the AirZound at all. If you check and top off the pressure of your tires every couple of days just add the AirZound to that routine and you should be fine. The biggest problem is usually finding a place to mount the horn itself. The trigger is integrated into the horn, it cannot be separated. The horn isn't huge but it does require some space and must face forward to be useful plus you can't put it in a spot where it will blast into your own ear when you're riding; your bike might not have a good spot to mount it. And of course, since you will want to easily use the AirZound in an emergency situation, the horn has to be mounted in such a way that the trigger can be used when you're in panic mode – it you have to reach for it or it's in an awkward spot, it's not going to do you much good. I wish Delta would produce a version of the AirZound with a remote trigger of some sort. Being able to mount the horn in one spot and the trigger in another (right under where I rest a thumb on the handlebars) would allow me to put an AirZound on any bike rather than just a few. Recently, my 6-year-old AirZound's plastic trigger/cap broke. I was able to hold it together with some tape but really needed a replacement. I wrote to Delta and they sent me two replacement trigger/caps and these trigger/caps have a new design which is both simpler and less likely to become damaged over long term use. That's great customer service and it's nice to see the product is receiving continued development.

Keeps trucks away from the bike lane
I have a friendly bell to alert pedestrians of my presence. And then I use this to honk to cars and trucks parked in the bike lane. It works.

Better than I expected!
I use this horn on my bicycle. It is easy to install and very loud! The process of filling the bottle with air is simple. Great product! It will last if you take care of it!

Design flaw but still a great product. Only 91 grams; this thing is loud!
This is essentially one of those compressed air horns you hear at sports events or a boat 'mayday' alert only this is rechargeable. It has a standard Schrader valve that can be pumped up to 80 psi (5.5 bars). I have the AirXwills Electric Bike Pump, another great product here on Amazon, that can refill the bottle in 10 seconds. It took a while to find a placement on the handlebars where I could press the trigger quickly. I ended up modifying my grip and mounted it on the grip. The design flaw is that, to be useful in an emergency, the trigger must be mounted very close to the handlebar grip. But the very loud horn is forever married to the trigger meaning that the horn is just 18 inches from your ear causing significant discomfort. In one way this might be good because it will discourage using it in any situation other than in a true emergency. I would have liked the horn instead to be married to the air bottle which could then allow placement of the horn further away from the ear, like low on the seat down tube or low on the fork. There's a volume control but even at the lowest volume it is still very loud. With this horn people complain about two things: 1) the bottle diameter is too narrow to fit securely in a standard bottle cage and 2) it's a pain to have to thread and secure the air hose down a bike frame tube to a frame-mounted bottle cage. The iUKUS Adjustable Bike Water Bottle Holder, another good product here on Amazon, solves both problems. It mounts to the handlebars so no worries about threading the air hose; just put the excess hose in the bottom of the cage before inserting the bottle. And it is adjustable down to the 2 inches that will accommodate the Airzound horn bottle securely. I can even mount the bottle sideways so it isn't so conspicuous and it's still completely secure. These are my only other minor complaints: 1) the air bottle makes the entire setup a little bulky and 2) the quick release system for the mount/trigger assembly is a little flimsy and difficult to operate. I think they are being modest when they state that volume is 115 db. Even at the lowest volume the horn can be heard in a nearby car with windows closed, air conditioning and the radio on. This horn turns heads. Great product, great value.

Great idea, great price, poor execution.
I can't avoid giving this product a good review because it is a great idea. In terms of positives - it is loud and it will get you noticed, unlike the buzzers and 'rape-alarm' style electronic devices. I don't recommend honking at pedestrians as it just seems to scare them rather than alert them. I would however recommend it for cars, lorries and buses so if you're a commute rider in traffic I'd highly recommend this. Whilst some others have alluded to poor built quality or materials, I don't think that is the issue here. I think it's just that the execution and design are flawed. But these flaws can be overcome with simple adjustments and a visit to a couple of aisles in Tesco. The issues are two-fold - the bottle and the attachments. Firstly, and not as seriously, the bottle is ever-so slightly too small to sit comfortably in the average bottle cage so I recommend using the velcro that comes with it to improve this to avoid the bottle jumping out when going over bumps or generally rattling about. Alternatively one can slip it in to a bottle holder. and then in to the cage for a more snug/stable fit. Secondly is the trigger and horn itself. 1. Two white plastic screw-on handlebar attachments are provided. These would benefit from actually being black and having some form of grip to them because, as most people know, plastic on metal or plastic on handlebar tape is extremely slippery i.e. when pushing the trigger, the horn just moves round the handlebars. This can be remedied with a rubber insert or some torn up sandpaper (if on handlebar tape). 2. The horn sits underneath the trigger and hangs down about 2-3 inches. If fixed to the horizontal part of drop-bars, it gets in the way of your knees when cycling. Besides an alternative mounting point, there's not really a way round this. What this system would really benefit from would be separating the horn from the trigger, allowing the horn to be mounted elsewhere (out of the way) and allowing the trigger to be more practically mounted. You'd then just need to be creative with the air-tubing. 3. The way the horn/trigger unit clips to the handlebars is extremely poor. As mentioned above, your knee even grazing over the horn will cause it to fall off as will going over even the slightest of bumps. This can also be dangerous as it can fall in to your front wheel. The way to avoid this is to wind the tubing round the frame or use the supplied cable-ties... which kind of defeats the object of having the horn just clipped on i.e. being able to remove it all together when leaving the bike. . This issue however can also be overcome by using self-adhesive velcro or some other form of removable adhesive. The point with all these workaround is that we shouldn't have to employ them. Looking forward to a 2.0 version of this product with the kinks worked out.

100% recommended, an absolute life saver!
Absolutely brilliant, easy fitting, easy filling (once I used a compressor!), easy to use and bloody loud! Plus apart from all the other cars and pedestrians it's worked on, this morning it saved me not just through how loud it is, but the overtaking tractor hit my handlebar right where my hand would have been had I not reached for the Airzound :) So it at least spared me broken bones if not my life.

It's loud
This product is very loud and will get you noticed. It scared the living daylights out of the dozy driver who j pulled out in front of me and odd pedestrian who walks out in front of you

FANTASTIC, Brilliant, easy to fit, extremely loud, easy to refill, fits any standard bike frame or bottle carrier and handle bar
FANTASTIC, arrived fast, easy to fit, velcro and cable ties make it a firm addition to the most rugged mountain bike and the filler/horn button attach nicely and firmly to the handlebars with a double click to ensure a tight fit. Neat compact design meas that I like other air horns, it only occupies a small space under the handlebar, not at all obtrusive. The sound has to be seen, (the reaction from everyone within 100 meters), and heard to be believed. I have had loud 12v battery buzzer horns before, but this 120Db baby is another level. Think football air horns without having to buy compressed air. Evens up the score for anyone on a bike in a commute!
