Could not be happier

As many cigar smokers will say, always buy your humidor at least one size larger than you think you may need. I wish I had listened to that logic the first time. I purchased this humidor as a replacement for my first. Like many others, I was not initially willing to sink a ton of money into a box but I was quickly running out of room. When I found this on Amazon I liked that it was fairly simple in design and had the capacity I was now after. Take capacity with a grain of salt anyway since it all differs with ring size of the cigars you store in it. Currently I have at least 50 in mine with room to spare. The price was also in the range and others that reviewed the product had good things to say about it. What I like is the size and how well it seals. It took the initial seasoning well. I am not using either the stock humidity gauge or humidifier but opted to use a digital gauge and Boveda packs (which I have fallen in love with) due to how easy it is to maintain the RH% you are after. There is a top tray to keep a few of your favorites in quick reach as well as dividers for the main compartment to allow you up to 3 areas for organizing your sticks. Its nothing really fancy in terms of appearance which I like. Whats not to like is the stock gauge and humidifier element. I am not sure anyone actually uses these things but do yourself a favor and at least buy a quality digital unit. The ones sold here on Amazon from Quality Importers (http://www.amazon.com/Quality-Importers-HygroSet-Hygrometer-Humidors/dp/B000H6CZQE/ref=pd_sim_hg_1) fit the cut out of the stock unit perfectly so it looks like its made for it. Mine also had some dings and dents. Nothing major or that would impair function just looks and they were visible from the front. In all I would happily buy another.

Quality Product

Quality humidor. Well built & classic styled. Compliments the San Marco 300 count humidor very nicely. The Amalfi/Callahan humidor is smaller inside than I anticipated. The adhesive for metal plate for the humidifier is a poor choice. This is the fourth humidor I purchased & revived for Christmas from Prestige/Quality Importers, (Old World, San Marco, Amalfi/Callahan and Caesar Humidors, and all of the adhesive plates failed to secure the humidifier to the inside top. I’m having to prop it against the inside bottom wall to use them. The inside dimensions of the Amalfi/Callahan and Caesar wont allow room for a 2 ounce jar of crystal beads, and 5.5” sticks. I’m having to use shot glasses, instead. Although I wish the interior depth was bigger, the volume is bigger than advertised. Right now it’s holding 90 sticks that are 5.5 x 44. The poor design of the adhesive is annoying, but not a deal breaker. Overall, I’m very pleased with all the humidors previously mentioned and purchased. On a final note about the Old World Humidor, it’s listed as a 100 count and I have 115 sticks that are 5 x 39, with room for more.

Great product.

I bought this humidor for a different purpose than what it was intended. I had to place small ash urns in it for my brother's memorial service. I could not find the right size, so I had to improvise. However, the construction did not disappoint. Once the urns are removed I intend to use it as a beautiful cigar humidor and I couldn't be happier with the elegance of the box. It is truly something I am proud to own. This humidor is solid! I highly recommend it above others out in the market.

Needed a larger humidor, this was a good choice

So I'm a foodie. I'm a wino. I'm also a cigar aficionado (fancy name for snob that spends too much). So when I outgrew my first, then second humidor (both hold ~ 25 sticks), I decided to see what my options were. I'm glad I settled on this (no doubt other reviews here on Amazon helped me in that decision). I like the fact that sticks of all sizes aren't an issue with this. I like the tray that sits atop the bottom chamber (I keep my cutters and a few sticks on the tray), and I really like the quality of the wood inside the box. Handsome, in a generic way, I suppose, but it does its job, and seems like it's going to last many years and really that's all I'm looking for. It's held 70% r/h since the first week I owned it, thanks to the large evaporator that's included in the purchase (requires a refill 1x per week). I would gladly recommend this product.

Looks and smells great but does not seal... this is not a humidor. **see edit

It is a nice looking box and it smells great, but mine does not seal properly. Other reviews were critical of the humidifier and hygrometer so I bought a digital hygrometer and calibration kit to go with it... I bought some Cigar Caddy Humidor Fluid for the humidifier and a 4-pack of 84% 60gram Boveda packs to season the box. It has been two weeks with all 4 Boveda packs and multiple soakings of the humidifier but the humidity is still less than 70% when I check it every few days. **EDIT** Humidor was slow to season... after a month or so it finally began to function properly. Now that it is properly seasoned I am happy with my purchase and might even buy another one.

This is not a bad humi...so far

I liked the classic look of this box and I wanted to stay away from cheaply made, overpriced boxes. Based on others positive feedback and my own research, I decided to go with this humidor as it fit within my budget. Once I opened it up and inspected it I got a little worried as I noticed gaps in the corners between the inside Cedar walls. The lid seal passed the test and overall seemed ok. My concerns eventually were relieved after properly seasoning this humidor and letting it sit with Boveda humidity packs and a calibrated digital hygrometer, I momitored the humidity level and it held consitant. I've had it now for about 4 months and it's now almost packed full of cigars and all is well. Overall, I feel like I got a good deal on a nice looking Humidor.

Stay Away!

Terrible product! The lid was warped, the Spanish cedar lining was coming out of the lid. There was very large gaps in the mitered corners, bigger than seasoning would fix. This kit was missing the divider for the tray. Overall very dissatisfied. A second unit was sent and the staining was extremely light in colour and even worse gaps in the corners. Finally a 3rd unit was sent, another warped lid (probably due to the bad hinge). The picture makes them look wonderful, but inside they are terrible.
