Hands down the best romex strippers!
These strippers are great for any residential electrician because they will strip the romex on 14-2 and 12-2 but also strip the individual conductors as well. It's well made and at a good price these a few e better then the klien ones for a residential electrician but you can't really twist your wires together with these due to the spring in between the handles. All and all its a great tool

You need this tool
If you work with Romex cable at all, drop everything and buy this tool. Never has stripping the outer insulation on Romex been so quick and easy. There are also strippers for 12 and 14 gauge wire plus a small hole for making bends in bare wire for terminal connections. HIGHLY recommended.

Needs a quick fix
As an electrician I use these constantly. It’s really nice having linesman, romex strippers and 12/14 ga strippers on one tool. My only gripes are that the locking mechanism to keep it closed is INSANELY annoying when taking the tool in and out of your tool belt over and over all day. Also it will stick for no reason and stop you from cutting wire all the way until you move it again. I fixed this by just cutting the tab off that locks onto the body and it’s much better for how I use it. That and compared to other linesman I’ve used it isn’t my favorite to pre-twist wires with. Especially when I’m tryna get 4 or 5 12’s together for a red wire nut. Head is a bit smaller than I’d like. But I still use it for the convenience of an “all-in-one” typa tool unless I really need to get after something it can’t handle.

IT WORKS WELL!!!
This tool makes working with 12–2 Romex much easier. Stripping the yellow jacket off the wire bundle is easy. Also, the little hole used for forming the J hook is very convenient and simple; I wish all tools for working with wire came with this.

Stop reading reviews and buy it now.
I just spent an entire day on the honey-do list and it was the first time I really enjoyed electrical work. If you’re working with NM/Romex — buy these now. It’s a game changer and these are definitely the most fully features and well built NM strippers. These nearly do it all and are so much better than other methods of striping Romex. Buy it. Stop reading. These will save you TONS of time.

Disappointing Purchase
Bought this tool to.... well, strip Romex, obviously. When I got this I appreciated the heavy feel of the tool. I was anxious to try it out. So, I found some old Romex laying around, and gave the tool a try. A gripped it pretty good, and tried to pull the Romex away, and it wouldn't budge. No matter how hard I squeezed the tool or pulled on the Romex it wouldn't budge. So, I released the tool, and looked at the Romex, and the teeth of the tool had dug into the copper wire preventing it from moving. Ok, I'll try again. This time with less pressure on the tool handles. This time, the tool doesn't cut all the way through the sheathing. I did at least a dozen tries. So, to make a long story longer, I consider the tool too difficult to use. I have no idea exactly how much pressure to put on the handles to cut through the sheathing but not have it dig into the wires. I really wanted to like this tool, but I am returning it. The best thing about it was the wire cutter. It would cut 12/2 with one hand easily. In the meantime, I bought on Amazon a Klein self adjusting wire stripper #11061 after seeing it demoed on YT. Wow! Is that a slick stripper or what? Feed the wire into the tool to the desired length, squeeze the handles together, and bam, the sheathing is stripped clean. What is even sweeter, is the Klein is $10 less that this Southwire. I will say the wire cutter on the Klein is not as good as the Southwire. It will cut 12/2, but takes more effort.

Strips Romex Need I Say More?
Yes, have you ever wanted an easier way to removed the outer insulation on 12/2 and 14/2 Romex without using a utility knife or ripper? Boom, here you go. Insert the entire Romex cable, squeeze and it perfectly cuts the outer insulation so you can slide it it right off I damaged. You can then use that for what I do, writing on it and making labels for wires! Aside from that, these strip wires like butter, they have a nice hood amount of weight to them so they don’t feel cheaply made at all. They have a nice big jaw so you can use them like you would your typical Linesman pliers. They also fit very nicely and comfortably in your hand.

Not great for LOOMEX
Thought this was a great idea, unfortunately this tool doesn't work very well on Loomex in Canada, it bites into the insulation when removing the jacket and the copper when stripping the insulation on conductors. I guess the Romex it's marketed for has different standards for their AWG sizes. Still using it though, just not as seamless as I had hoped.

Not worth purchsing
It's heavy and bulky despite attractive look from electrician perspective.

Awesome residential tool
Awesome tool, never spliced boxes faster. I live in fear for the inevitable day I blow them up doing something dumb.
