Expensive for the build quality

Working in the mangrove swamp I pulled the string that allows it to hang over your neck and it came off so I had to stop, pull it apart and refasten it. Pain in the ass. This alone I will give it 2 stars for a product over $100.

Perfect for Survey Work

I love this compass and use it every day for work. It's easy to read and use, though dirt/debris does get stuck in the eyepiece sometime. It's easy to clean out. Like most compasses, it will gradually start to become a degree or two off after several years, but nothing you can do about that. Highly recommend this sighting compass!

Comes in handy in a pinch, I am a Land Surveyor and use a compass almost daily. I have several of these that are metal but a couple of them have developed large air bubbles and apparently you can't get ahold of anyone to fix them so this is a cheaper alternative.

Stopped being accurate

After using it for a few days with accurate results, it became off by a few degrees after checking it against 3 other compasses. It was well cared for and didn’t come into contact with anything that could have altered its performance. Very disappointed that it didn’t last longer.

Worst Purchase Ever

This is the most over-priced, God-awful, useless piece of junk I have ever purchased. I have owned a number of compasses. I thought I would like to try out a really nice one. This is worse than the one I got in a Cracker Jack box when I was a kid. It just points in random directions like they forgot to put the magnet in there. Thank God I didn't get the more expensive metal one. There must be a lot of people lost in the woods of Finland every year. What a let down.
