Worked just fine. Chisel tip that installed worked great.
Used this iron to solder the center conductor of PL-259 coaxial connectors with good quality Kester solder. It worked very good. I did six PL-259's total. The chisel tip is still nice and shiny.

Good, but still shy from being great for what it is for the Brand name...
Good overall solder iron to work on quick small projects and etc. I bought this one to carry in my vehicle's toolbox, you never know when you need to save the day out in the road or visiting a friend/relative. Plus I went for this, because I know the brand, but it fell short for me.. It does need an improvement, here are a few suggestions: (1) it would've been helpful that the unit itself had some type of marking that would display the model number on the iron itself -- and not just the package that will be discarded. Why? Well, you make several similar solder iron (models) that look the same, the only difference is that they reach a certain temperature and the only visual way to learn which is which, is to perhaps own all of them, and then sort them by the thickness of the shaft. This way the users can verify we actually got the correct model and etc. Or for any future reference when requesting any warranty on them. (2) a better user manual, like learning how far deep you should insert the replaceable tips (all the way in or up to the screw can grip it?). (3) that the screw that we unfasten to change tips, should've been a Phillips screw, instead of a slotted flat blade screw, the reason is that Phillips screws of that tiny size are most common nowadays in the millennium and not so common are the slotted flat blade versions. (4) that the irons would have a two mode switch offering the full and half the temperature power. For example the 40 watt iron should be able to give either 20 or 40 watts and etc. Instead of having to carry a few different versions to meet those settings. (5) offer a working free solder version, the one supplied causes issues with the tips -- its not compatible. (6) that the LED lights would've been a lot brighter, they are so dim, you can barely see anything with them. It's a joke.

Soldering iron
Not bad but for fine work it doesn’t work very well. All other work does great.

Basic
No temp control. Takes a long time to get hot, but then works great.

Great soldering iron, LED's DOA though.
Soldering iron worked great for what I tested it with, but the 3 LED's on mine were dead when it got here. Hence the 4 stars. Would still buy again, none of my other soldering irons have ever had lights, but they were a nice feature. Unfortunately, they don't work, but the iron itself works great so I have no interest in returning. Took a minute or so to start melting my tinning solder, but once it did it was very hot and melted everything else during that test project quickly.

Affordable, but not for prolonged use
Pros: - Affordable - LEDs to help see what you are soldering - Usual multiple set of different tips - Easy to set up Cons: - Feels cheap - No temperature control (when it's on, it's on) - Stand is a literally piece of bent metal (22 ga. steel I think) and makes iron not truly stable. (Has fallen several times now and burned a few things) If this is your first soldering iron, you won't be upset. Or if you need an affordable one that you might use once or twice a year. The LEDs are a little bit of a gimmick, but I honestly wished more irons had them. That being said, it should not be used for extensive amounts of time and an additional stand should be used if you plan on doing so. Recommended: Beginners, or the Occasional Intermediate use. (Keep in mind lack of temp. control and feeling cheap. It "gets the job done".)

Best soldering iron ive used
I bought one of these after using a friends, and I'm never buying anything else. These get HOT, and they do so very quickly. I have many rolls of solder and I needed enough heat to deal with anything I happen to pick up. I also ordered a cup of flux paste and dip the tip (just the last 1/8 inch) in that after wiping it off once in a while. The one thing I will note is that the entire tip can and will hold solder. If you notice that the tip looks fat and you have no ball of solder, it has spread all the way around the tip and its time to clean it, flux dip, and then let it sit for a while to burn a little and oxidize behind the flux, so that it stops sucking solder all the way up. The LEDs are very useful when soldering in not-ideal amounts of light. I often use them to inspect my joint, as my head is usually in the way of my light source.
