we have enjoyed whole carrots and potatoes

I purchased this to prevent mice from eating my vegetables; moles would dig their tunnels into the garden around the carrots and potatoes to feed on worms, grubs and such, then mice would use those same tunnels to get at the potatoes, carrots, etc. ... we would pull up a lush-looking carrot top, only to find that the carrot top was all that was left of the carrot. To combat the mice, I built 10' x 2.5' garden boxes using redwood 2x6 lumber, cut hardware cloth to fit the underside of the box and a few inches up each side, then used 3/4" fencing staples to attach the hardware cloth to the boxes, making each box essentially impregnable to ground-borne rodents. Each year since then, we have enjoyed whole carrots and potatoes ...

Rattlesnake defense Mesh for fencng

This is just the very best mesh to add to a rail fence to keep out rattlesnakes. That is according to all the resources I could find, both at local big box contracting supply stores and with local pest control. It is easy to work with and fairly easy to install. It even looks pretty decent once installed neatly and tightly. For rattlesnakes it needs to be 1/4 inch square mesh, galvanized like this one so it will not rust, and 36 inches wide. One needs to bury 3-4 inches of the width in the dirt at the base of your fence. We used it for 80 feet of iron rail fencing and for two large double door gates. Got it all installed in less than two days.

The perfect barrier to keep out pests

My garden has been attacked by voles for too long now. I removed ALL the soil from my raised bed garden. Dug down 2 feet. The lumber on top of the ground adds additional depth, so this 36-inch size was perfect. Found some tunnels those buggers had been using. BUT NO MORE! I lined the bottom and sides with this hardware mesh; reinforced the corners, and filled in the gap between the mesh and the sides of the hole with a 1-inch layer of permatill.

Excellent Screen!

After buying a roll from my local hardware store, I decided to look to see if Amazon carried a similar product, and of course Amazon had it and quite a bit cheaper than I just paid. The product itself was exactly what I was expecting. The coating is great and I have not had any rust on any of the screens I have made with this.

Spliced part way through the roll

Half way through the roll it appears that a portion was spliced and they did a bad job of it! It’s a good thing my husband is resourceful enough to figure out how to use this defective product.
